In November 2009, Brandon Beachum suffered a torn ACL that ultimately cost him his 2010 season.
Two years later, an injury has cost the running back the remainder of his Penn State career.
The Nittany Lions announced Monday that Beachum underwent surgery today for a broken left ankle suffered late in the loss to Wisconsin last Saturday. The release goes on to note that Beachum was introduced during the Nov. 12 Senior Day ceremony vs. Nebraska -- the first game after the firing of Joe Paterno -- and does not plan to play in 2012.
In addition to the broken ankle, a foot issue kept also Beachum out of several games this season.
For the season, Beachum ranked fourth on the team with 134 rushing yards on 34 carries (3.9 avg.).
