In Miami news not related to a certain organization with the acronym “NCAA”, it appaers the Hurricanes have found a replacement for former assistant Mario Cristobal.
Per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, USF assistant Larry Scott will join Al Golden‘s staff as the team’s tight ends coach. Miami has not yet commented on the report.
Scott was an original member of USF’s football program from 1996-99 and has spent the past six seasons at USF working his way up through the coaching ranks.
When Willie Taggart succeeded Skip Holtz last year, Scott was the only assistant to be retained. However, Scott was recently to both Florida State and Miami, and even more recently appeared he was staying with the Bulls.
Cristobal, who joined Golden’s coaching staff after six seasons as FIU’s head coach, briefly served as the Hurricanes’ tight ends coach and associate (to the) head coach before accepting a job as Alabama’s offensive line coach.
