Wisconsin to be without kicker for B1G game vs. Mich. St.

If Wisconsin huge Big ten matchup against Michigan State comes down to a kick, you won’t blame the coaching staff if they’re a bit more nervous than normal.

Thursday afternoon, the Badgers confirmed that Rafael Gaglianone will not make the trip to East Lansing and will not play against the Spartans. The placekicker is dealing with a back issue which will sideline him for at least the Big Ten opener in Week 4.

This season, Gaglianone has connected on seven of eight field goal attempts and all 10 extra points. Included in that total was what turned out to be the game-winning field goal in the opener against LSU at Lambeau Field.

Including this season, Gaglianone has been good on 44-57 field goals and all but two of his 111 point afters.

With Gaglianone sidelined, the Badgers will turn to senior Andrew Endicott. Not only has Endicott never attempted a field goal at the collegiate level, he only attempted, per his bio, two as a senior during his high school playing days.

In addition to Gaglianone, running back Corey Clement is listed as questionable with an unspecified leg injury. Clement currently leads the Badgers with 197 yards and three touchdowns.
