Best XI: Week 20

We didn’t have a Best XI in the congested holiday period but we’re back at it again after our New Year’s Day matches! Here is this week’s squad.

Best XI

We fit our best XI into our budget just by a slim margin this weekend and didn’t have to drop anyone to save money.  Part of the reason for that was the great performance from cheap forwards and Jack Rodwell’s 20-point match at a £ 2.42M bargain.

Points

A very impressive 239 points this week.  There was heavy scoring throughout all positions and the balance showed up in the point total.

Cost

This week the BEST XI cost £ 95.77M*.  The new price of our Best XI (if you were to try to create this team now after the price changes) is £ 118.43M.  That’s a 22.66% increase in price.

*Keep in mind the cost does NOT include any substitutes and is thus 96M instead of 100M.

MVP

This week’s MVP was the unlikely candidate Nacer Chadli.  This was a Spurs dominated Best XI and Chadli was a big part of that with 32 points.  Tottenham absolutely dominated Chelsea and it showed here, with three Spurs players showing up in Chadli, Kane, and Rose.

Formation

The Best XI was lined up in the old 3-4-3 formation, which has been dominating our team this year.

Repeat Offenders

John Terry and Harry Kane join us in the repeat offenders table and now each have three appearances each.  John Terry is on a scoring streak and has been fantastic for fantasy owners but his price is a bit too high at the moment.  Only use him if you have him at a discount.  Harry Kane’s price is similar but I feel better about spending that amount on a forward than on a defender.
