Best XI: Week 29

We had a fairly high scoring week this time at 231 points.

Cost

This week the BEST XI cost £ 93.84M*.  The new price of our Best XI (if you were to try to create this team now after the price changes) is £ 127.9M.  That’s a 36.3% increase in price.

*Keep in mind the cost does NOT include any substitutes and is thus 96M instead of 100M, which assumes one might have four £ 1M substitutes.

MVP

This week’s MVP was Leighton Baines.  Baines is a fine fantasy player, but it’s worth noting he’s only been on this list twice.  He now costs £ 17.68M and that’s not an amount you want to spend on a defender, no matter how good. I would advice avoiding him and spending your money up top.  Twice on the Best XI is not anything to brag about when there are multiple other defenders that have been here time and time again at a much cheaper price.

I already talked about my frustration with Baines, so I’ll this chance to praise Jores Okore, who is making a lot out of his chances at Aston Villa this year.  Okore is a solid player for those looking at under 10M defenders.
