Welcome back to the Best XI. It was a fairly uneventful week in the Premier League this weekend outside of a few relegation battle matchups that proved to be important. The title race is already decided and Liverpool never really had a big chance at a top four finish even before the weekend, so the big news really were at the bottom. Leicester City and Aston Villa both won and even Sunderland took home three points as they try to survive. More on the relegation race from Neal at the Monday Morning Manager.
Best XI
This week was heavy on Manchester City players as they trumped QPR 6-0. The goals, assists, and clean sheet gave almost everyone on City a great fantasy score, but some went above and beyond. When trying to make up ground at the end of the season, it’s wise to stack teams that have the potential to be on the right side of a blowout, as it can often return great results. Manchester City this weekend is a prime example of that.
Points
Another huge score this week – 252 points.
Cost
This week the BEST XI cost £ 95.16M*. The new price of our Best XI (if you were to try to create this team now after the price changes) is £ 139.39M. That’s a 46.5% increase in price.
*Keep in mind the cost does NOT include any substitutes and is thus 96M instead of 100M, which assumes one might have four £ 1M substitutes.

MVP
This week’s MVP was Sergio Aguero. This is not really a surprise, as Aguero has been on fire all season and was involved in a number of Manchester City’s six goals this weekend. 43 points is a game-changer, especially in formats where one can have a captain, so Aguero’s performance surely impacted a number of fantasy races this week. This also shows that playing matchups is important.

Repeat Offenders
Alexis Sanchez was close to getting in this week but his high price gave way to Victor Anichebe. Sanchez will need another good performance to take the overall lead. In the meantime, Aleksandar Kolarov has joined the party. Kolarov has been absolutely incredible in the past few weeks and has been by far the best fantasy player of the past month. He has literally done everything possible for Manchester City and has ended with 16, 24, 29, and 33 pts in each of the last four weeks. Use him with confidence in the last two weeks of the season.
