FanDuel Bargain Bin: Friday

For bargains on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower.

There are plenty of fine option under that salary threshold tonight games. Because of this, I will be ranking the Top 10 Value Plays in terms of priority to your lineup, also outlining a few more to consider for good measure.

Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.

Now onto the bargain plays:

1 - D’Angelo Russell – PG – LA Lakers (FanDuel Price: $6,000)

Lou Williams is out, Kobe Bryant is very iffy, and Jordan Clarkson is questionable tonight for the Lakers. D’Angelo Russell was already on an incredible run of 38+ FP in three of the past four, and the thin LAL backcourt only improves his fantasy situation. The matchup against Atlanta doesn’t look great on paper, but the hotstreak, volume uptick, and still very reasonable price point more than outweigh that single concern. Target with confidence in all formats.

2 - Zach LaVine – SG – Minnesota (FanDuel Price: $5,200)

Zach LaVine is an easy pick in cash games tonight. He is starting, seeing 36+ minutes, contributing 29+ FP in the past three games, and his opponent (Milwaukee) ranks 28th in defensive efficiency against the shooting guard position. Oh, and we all know he has upside when the jumpers are falling. Plus, LaVine is not shy on the offensive end, putting forth a fantasy-friendly, aggressive mindset in this high-scoring atmosphere (213 over/under).

3 - Alex Len – C – Phoenix (FanDuel Price: $5,300)

There are a lot of great Center options to consider this evening (Whiteside, Towns, Vucevic, Horford, B.Lopez), but Len easily has the most comfortable price point of these. The Phoenix Center is starting, seeing 35+ minutes a game within a featured role. He has produced 47, 30, and 28 fantasy points respectively within that promotion. It goes without saying that he’s way too cheap for the increased minutes and volume. Those previous three games accurately represent his floor/ceiling combination of 30-45+ fantasy points.

4 - Jabari Parker – PF – Milwaukee (FanDuel Price: $5,900)

As I mentioned earlier, this Milwaukee-Minnesota game is one of the highest scoring on the day (213 over/under). There should be plenty of points to go around on both sides, and Parker is a near-lock to get his share. He’s on a nice hotstreak, averaging 34 FPPG over the last eight, which accurately represents a safe projection for tonight. He has the best combination of security, upside, and price at the power forward position.

5 - Julius Randle – PF – LA Lakers (FanDuel Price: $6,100)

With Kobe Bryant and Jordan Clarkson highly questionable, there’s a good chance Julius Randle will need to pick up some offensive slack for the Lakers. I should comment that Randle is a solid play regardless of Bryant and Clarkson’s status, but their absence would give him a nice little boost. Randle has been grooving with a 28 FPPG average over the last four, and he could pile up the rebounds against an Atlanta team that has been very suspect on the glass all season.

6 - Will Barton – SG – Denver (FanDuel Price: $5,900)

I’m looking at Barton more in tournaments, but he’s also cash playable if you can make it work. We all suspected Barton to have some breakout performances with Danilo Gallinari sidelined for an extended period of time. However, Barton has failed to capitalize in the first two chances with Gallo inactive, and most people have probably written him off because of it. The price is still very reasonable if you can squeeze him in. Perhaps the “third time is the charm” for Barton, as the matchup is agreeable vs Brooklyn (25th vs shooting guards).

7 - Bojan Bogdanovic – SF – Brooklyn (FanDuel Price: $4,000)

Bogdanovic has stepped up his game with Joe Johnson no longer apart of the team. In the past two, he has hit 27 and 32 fantasy points respectively, seeing 30+ minutes in each contest. The matchup suggests he could keep that pace going against an up-tempo Denver team that ranks 19th against opposing small forwards. If you need a value filler, look no further than Bojan.

8 - Tristan Thompson – PF – Cleveland (FanDuel Price: $4,700)

Kevin Love is out tonight, so Thompson will see more minutes in a great matchup against Washington (ranked 27th in defensive efficiency vs power forwards). He is playable in all formats if you need someone around this salary level. However, for cash games, I’ll try to spend up for Parker/Gordon/Randle at the power forward position. Thompson is not a bad fallback option from those three.

9 - Kent Bazemore – SF – Atlanta (FanDuel Price: $4,800)

If you have enough cap space to pivot from Bogdanovic to Kent Bazemore, that could be the better route. Bazemore has an elite matchup against the Lakers, who rank dead last against the small forward position. Kent has accumulated 25+ fantasy points in the past three games, and he’s well-aligned to surpass that threshold tonight.

10 - Mirza Teletovic – PF – Phoenix (FanDuel Price: $4,700)

Mirza is similar to Tristan Thompson for the same price. Even though he’ll likely see less playing time than Thompson, I believe he has more upside for tournament purposes. Teletovic’s “instant offense” profile obviously translates to a fantasy-friendly game with high FP/min efficiency at times. He could catch fire against an Orlando team that ranks 24th against opposing power forwards. Remember, this is the highest-scoring game of the night (214 over/under).
