FanDuel Bargain Bin: Sunday

Even though the San Francisco Giants haven’t been hitting great this season, the price and output of their top of the order hitters has remained valuable. Today they face Jeremy Hellickson, who they roughed up for 9 hits and three runs in four innings earlier this season.  I’d feel good about playing Buster Posey, Angel Pagan, Casey McGehee, Jake Lamb, Nori Aoki, and Gregor Blanco, with room in there for anyone starting.

Angel Pagan – OF – SFG (FanDuel Price: $3,200) Pagan hit right-handed pitchers for a nice .356 wOBA last season, while, albeit in a short sample size, Jeremy Hellickson gave up a .422 wOBA and 1.6 HR/9 rate to right-handed hitters last season. Add to that Pagan has been hot with a .500 average against lefties this season.

Devon Travis – 2B – TOR  (FanDuel Price: $2,500) Travis is hitting leadoff with Jose Reyes out of the lineup and he’s doing it quite well. He’s hit in eight of his last nine games and has eight hits in his last four, but his price is still bargain basement. He hasn’t had any trouble with righties this season and Shelby Miller doesn’t have strong splits against righties. He’s going to be hard to fade today.

Billy Butler – 1B -- OAK (FanDuel Price: $3,200) Butler has gotten a hit in every game this season and is hitting lefties for a .400 average. He faces his old teammate lefty Danny Duffy who is worse against right-handed hitters. Butler should be one of the safest plays today, especially with his bargain price tag.

Also Consider: Mookie Betts – OF – BOS . . . Derrek Norris – C – SDP . . . Matt Adams – 1B -- STL

Brian Dozier – 2B – MIN (FanDuel Price: $3,100) When the Bull Dozier gets going he’s going to be a regular DFS play as usual, but he’s gotten off to a slowish start. But even with his .220 overall average, he’s showing his affinity for lefties with a .357 average when facing them. He gets lefty T.J. House today, who has given up a .357 wOBA to righties in his career. Bang. Bang.

Rickie Weeks – 2B – SEA (FanDuel Price: $2,500) Weeks has hit lefties well over his career, including last season when he hit a .372 wOBA against them. Ross Detwiler has in turn allowed a .383 wOBA to righties in his short career.

Austin Jackson – OF – SEA (FanDuel Price: $2,500) Jackson falls under many of the same reasons to play him as Rickie Weeks does and the both are extremely cheap. For his career he’s hitting lefties for a .336 wOBA.

Also Consider: Nick Castellanos – 3B – DET . . .  Mark Canha – OF -- OAK

Torii Hunter – OF – MIN (FanDuel Price: $2,800) Looking to get more exposure against lefty T.J. House, I like Hunter for his price and splits against lefties. He started ice cold, but did have a three-hit day two games ago and if you are looking to stack against House he looks like a must play.

Andre Ethier – OF – LAD (FanDuel Price: $2,600) Lefty Ethier should get the start against righty Eddie Butler in either the 5 or 6 hole. Butler doesn’t have much of an MLB track record, but has been rocked by lefties so far.

Jacob Lamb – OF – ARI (FanDuel Price: $3,200)  Lamb is hitting a cool .414 so far this season and was moved up to the #2 slot last game. We’ll see if he sticks there against Tim Hudson, who had trouble with lefties last season, letting them hit a .336 wOBA off him.

Also Consider: Yasmani Grandal – C – LAD . . . Trevor Plouffe – 3B -- MIN
