FanDuel Bargain Bin: Tuesday

There are plenty of sub-par pitchers to target tonight. I especially like the Blue Jays versus Matt Andriese, the Athletics against Brad Peacock, and the Angels facing Nick Martinez. The question is, can we find value in our lineups against any of these guys? And the answer to that is always yes!

Brad Peacock has a career wOBA of .394 against lefties at home and the A’s had five lefties in the lineup last night against fellow right-hander Scott Feldman when they put up 8 runs. So far against righties the A’s are batting a .354 wOBA and striking out only 16.2% of the time. There whole lineup should be usable tonight, but looking at splits and price, the top value plays would be Ike Davis – 1B – OAK (FanDuel Price: $2,800), Ben Zobrist – 2B – OAK (FanDuel Price: $3,100), Billy Butler – 1B – OAK (FanDuel Price: $3,200), and Brett Lowrie – 3B – OAK (FanDuel Price: $2,700).

Nori Aoki – 1B – SFG -- (FanDuel Price: $3,200) Aoki is one of the safer plays every night. He has hit safely in all eight games this season, including five multi-hit games. He’s not going to lead your team in FanDuel points due to his lack of power, but he’s not going to hurt them with negatives. He also faces Christian Bergman who has given up 75 hits in 54 innings in his career.

Travis Snider – 2B – BAL  (FanDuel Price: $2,600) Snider has gotten off to a good start to the season as he’s batting over .300, but has been somewhat pigeon-holed as a specialist against right-handers, but for his career he’s pretty much even in his splits with a .313 wOBA against lefties and a .317 against righties, but over the last three seasons he has a huge .399 wOBA against lefties in 102 at bats. Keep an eye on where he’s placed in the lineup, but against the shell of Sabathia in a park made for lefties, he should have value.

Desmond Jennings – OF – TB (FanDuel Price: $2,800) Jennings faces a lefty in Daniel Norris and Jennings' splits suggest that’s a good thing. He has a wOBA of .356 against lefties over his last 400+ at bats and Toronto is a great place for right handers if they want to get the ball out of the yard.

Also Consider: Shin-Soo Choo  – OF – TEX (FanDuel Price: $3,000) . . . Manny Machado – 3B – BAL  (FanDuel Price: $2,800)

Carlos Peguero – OF – TEX (FanDuel Price: $2,200) Peguero was just recalled from Triple-A and has started off hot with four hits, two doubles, three walks, two runs and one stolen base in his first three games. He’s a lefty and could be removed against a lefty reliever, but for this bargain basement price it’s hard not to like him against the rookie right-hander Drew Rucinski.

Jonathan Schoop – 2B – BAL  (FanDuel Price: $2,600) Schoop has little plate discipline, but can knock the ball out of the park like he’s done in two of his last three games. Over the last three seasons C.C. Sabathia has given up a 1.22 HR/9 rate and a .329 wOBA to right-handed hitters and those splits get slightly worse on the road.

Tim Beckham – SS – TB (FanDuel Price: $2,400) Beckham had a nice couple games to perk some interest and now he gets to face a lefty in Daniel Norris. This is actually the first lefty the Rays have faced all season and there’s a good shot Beckham gets a start in what should be a high scoring affair.

Also Consider: Dalton Pompey – OF – TOR (FanDuel Price: $3,100) . . . Mark Canha – 1B – OAK (FanDuel Price: $2,900)

Matt Joyce – OF – LAA (FanDuel Price: $2,500) Joyce, a lefty, is always in play against right-handed pitching and has been consistently hitting cleanup against them this season.  Nick Martinez has had a good amount of trouble with lefties so far in his career, giving up a .358 wOBA to them. And when you look at how he’s fared at home against lefties that wOBA heads up past .400.

Leonys Martin – OF – TEX (FanDuel Price: $2,900) Leading off for the Rangers in the bandbox that is Arlington Stadium should be a sweet spot to reside, but so far Martin has gotten off to a slow start. Going up against righty Drew Rucinski who will be making his first major league start and on the road to boot, he has nice upside for his price.

Eric Young Jr. – OF – ATL (FanDuel Price: $2,600) Young has led off for the Braves against right-handers the last three games and should once again against Tom Koehler of Miami. He’s not a lock, hence the tournament play status, but leading off, with his speed, he is always in line to put up good points.

Also Consider:  David Freese  -- 3B – LAA (FanDuel Price: $2,900)
