I’m going to give you some fades as these players either should not be in your lineup or tread carefully if you want them on your FanDuel squad. We will also be updating the goaltending matchups at the bottom of the column all season (up to the 7 pm start times for most lineups) so check the column and Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for the latest updates.
Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!
Cory Schneider G (New Jersey) - $8,700
Schneider is in a big slump. He has given up at least four goals in five of his last seven games and is now 9-9-4 with a 2.88 GAA and a.906 save percentage. Schneider usually does not have a great record as the Devils have been mediocre of late but his peripherals have always been top-notch, until this season. He is not worth taking Sunday against the Rangers.
Brian Campbell D (Chicago) - $4,300
Campbell scored on Saturday for the first time in 18 games but he has only three points in that span. The 37-year-old started off the season nicely with a couple of goals and seven points in 14 games but has not been a fantasy asset at all of late with the exception of last night.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic D (San Jose) - $4,700
Vlasic has not had a point in his last 12 games and his three goals and seven points in 30 games are nothing to write home about (not that anyone writes anymore). He suffered an undisclosed injury against Toronto Tuesday and although he has not missed a game, he still may be hurting. All that adds up to keeping Vlasic out of your DFS Sunday.
Mats Zuccarello W (Rangers) - $5,800
The diminutive Norwegian has only a goal and four assists in his last 12 games and finally scored Thursday which was his first in 15 games. Zuccarello has eight goals and 20 points in 33 games and that is not bad but with only three evening games in the NHL, he looks to be the odd-man out Sunday in FanDuel.
Zack Smith W (Ottawa) - $4,200
Zack Smith had a goal and an assist Saturday. He has been doing better of late with four points in his last five games but started the season with only six points in his first 26 games. That is not the production needed from a second line player and although he did pick up 25 goals last season, that seems like a dream at this time.
John Tavares C (Islanders) - $8,200
I will start out by saying I love to watch Tavares play. I thought he would be in the mix this season for the Hart but the Islanders have been awful and that will not happen. Tavares has nine goals and 23 points this season but has only one assist in his last three games. He is the third highest priced player in FanDuel Sunday evening so there are plenty of other options.
