Welcome to FanDuel Fades, where we highlight players you might want to avoid tonight. You'll also find a list of probable goaltenders below.
Claude Giroux (PHI) - C - $7,300
Giroux is the most expensive center available on Wednesday, but his average of 11.6 FanDuel points per game is nowhere near the best. On top of that he's been particularly cold lately with two goals and three points in his last 11 games.
Tomas Tatar (DET) - W - $4,900
With 8.3 FanDuel points per game, Tatar isn't a great option even at that price. He's also been cold lately with no points in his last five games.
Curtis McElhinney (TOR) - G - $7,800
McElhinney will likely start tonight as Toronto used Frederik Andersen on Tuesday, though at the time of writing the Leafs' starter isn't confirmed. If McElhinney does get the nod though, he'll be up against his former team in Columbus. McElhinney is a solid backup, but the Blue Jackets have been a strong team offensively this season and they'll be the rested party for this matchup.
Johnny Gaudreau (CAL) - W - $7,300
Among the nine most expensive wingers on Wednesday, Gaudreau has the lowest FanDuel points per game at 11.7. He did enjoy a four-game point streak from Jan. 26-Feb. 5, but even with that factored in he still has just one goal and eight points in his last 15 games.
Alexander Wennberg (CLM) - C - $5,700
Wennberg had a stretch of two goals and eight points in just five games from Jan. 22-Feb. 3. Unfortunately, he's gone completely cold since with no points and just six shots in his last five games.
Mark Giordano (CAL) - D - $5,000
Giordano has now gone 10 straight games without recording a single point. Keep an eye on him though as he'll be worth owning on some days once this slump is over.
