When looking at “bargains” on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower.
We have a nice 10-game slate on tap tonight, and I’ll be ranking the top five bargains by priority to your FanDuel NBA lineups (throwing in a few more to consider for good measure).
Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.
Now onto the bargain plays.
1 - Patty Mills – PG – San Antonio (FanDuel Price: $3,500)
I had a tough time deciding between Patty Mills and Ramon Sessions, and I’ll probably have both in my FanDuel lineups tonight. Ultimately, I’m giving a small lean to Mills, as he is marginally cheaper. Both should see 30-33+ minutes tonight while stepping into the starting point guard spot. The starters are resting for San Antonio, meaning Mills will see a lot more usage to go along with those minutes. The matchup is really good against a Denver team that ranks in the bottom five against opposing floor generals. There’s very little risk (for minimum salary) and plentiful upside for Mills tonight.
2 - Ramon Sessions – PG – Washington (FanDuel Price: $4,100)
John Wall is listed as doubtful for tonight, meaning Sessions will get another start. He made the most of that role last game, producing 40 FP in 29 minutes vs Brooklyn. The draw at Detroit will be more difficult, but Sessions should still exceed value through sheer playing time. He’s a savvy veteran point guard with a fantasy-friendly game that fits well within this up-tempo Washingon offense. Play him with confidence!
3 - Jamal Crawford – SG – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $4,600)
J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Chris Paul, and Wesley Johnson have all been ruled out tonight. That leaves Crawford with a heavy offensive burden in a subpar matchup at Utah. Granted, the Jazz defense is one of the best in the league, but Crawford’s extreme usage boost and cheap salary should result in a nice fantasy situation regardless. Hopefully he can shoot over Utah’s effective defensive en route to a solid performance. He’ll certainly have ample opportunities to make it happen.
4 - Cole Aldrich – C – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $3,700)
As I just mentioned, the Clippers are resting their starters tonight, including DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin. That means 30-35 minutes for Aldrich, who has proven himself as a solid FP/minute producer throughout the season. A tough matchup against Utah is frustrating, but Aldrich should still be able to exceed value through playing time alone. His upside may be slightly curbed though.
5 - Kevin Martin – SG – San Antonio (FanDuel Price: $3,500)
Kevin Martin is a cheap pick that can be utilized in tournaments and cash games alike. He should start and see around 30 minutes while the Spurs’ starters rest. He could also step into a high-usage rate while playing alongside other reserves. Martin has always been a fickle fantasy play, but you can’t deny his upside if the 3-ball is falling. At minimum salary, you aren’t risking much for a potentially high return.
Derrick Williams – PF – New York (FanDuel Price: $4,500)
Boban Marjanovic – C – San Antonio (FanDuel Price: $3,500)
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – SG – Detroit (FanDuel Price: $5,100)
D’Angelo Russell – PG – LA Lakers (FanDuel Price: $5,100)
