When looking at “bargains” on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower.
We have another three-game playoff slate upon us, meaning I will be ranking the top five bargains by priority to your FanDuel NBA lineups.
Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.
Now onto the bargain plays.
1 - Mason Plumlee – C – Portland (FanDuel Price: $6,200)
Plumlee will continue to be an impact player in this series, and he’s an easy fantasy bargain recommendation tonight. He has hit 46, 45, 36, and 36 fantasy points respectively in the past four games, and he should be within that range once again. After all, the Clippers ranked in the bottom ten in rebound rate and defensive efficiency against opposing centers in the regular season. Essentially, you could see similar (or even better) production from Plumlee when comparing to the more-expensive likes of DeAndre Jordan.
2 - Jamal Crawford – SG – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $5,200)
Crawford is an easy value pick tonight. He played nearly the entire game with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin out last time around, producing 30 FP in 44 minutes. The uptick in playing time ultimately rises his floor and ceiling, making him a fantastic value commodity on this short slate.
3 - Jeff Green – SF – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $4,900)
There’s a decision to be made at small forward tonight, as Al-Farouq Aminu, Maurice Harkless, Joe Johnson, and Jeff Green are all fine value candidates. Of course, we can’t forget about Paul George, coming off a 64 FP outing last time around. Of the bargains listed, I believe Green is the best of the bunch. He played 37 minutes with 32 fantasy points while enjoying a heightened role with Paul and Griffin out last time. It should be a similar story tonight, and he comes at a meaningful discount from the other value considerations at small forward.
4 - Jeremy Lin – SG – Charlotte (FanDuel Price: $4,900)
At shooting guard, I’m clicking in Jamal Crawford then seeing how much cap space I have left for the other spot. CJ McCollum, DeMar DeRozan, and Dwyane Wade all catch my eye, but I may not have enough cap space to grab them with confidence. In that event, I’m willing to settle for Jeremy Lin, as he has been surprisingly solid throughout this series. He has hit 31, 27, and 27 fantasy points respectively in the past three games, averaging a secure 33 minutes over that span.
5 - Austin Rivers – PG – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $4,200)
Rivers wasn’t great while filling in for Chris Paul last game, contributing 18 fantasy points in 37 minutes. He’ll start again tonight. The playing time looks promising, and we are willing to tolerate his low FP/minute tendencies because the point guard position doesn’t have much value to offer. Even though he could be on the wrong side of 20 FP once again, Rivers is still a decent value filler on this shortened slate.
