FanDuel NBA Bargains: Friday

by Spencer Limbach

When looking at bargains on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower. I’ll be ranking these picks by priority to your lineups for tonight’s nine-game slate starting at 7:00 ET.

Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.

Now onto the bargain plays.

1 - Greg Monroe – C – Milwaukee (FanDuel Price: $6,300)

Monroe is technically just above our arbitrary bargain threshold of $6000. He’s still a relative value within this slate, looking at a decent matchup against a Miami team that ranks 24th in defensive efficiency against opposing centers. He has been on fire with a steady 35 FPPG average over the past six, and he should be within that range yet again.

2 - George Hill – PG – Utah (FanDuel Price: $6,100)

Hill is a solid mid-range value in all formats tonight. He’s averaging 30 FPPG this season, which represents his value threshold at this salary. Playing against a Detroit team that ranks 23rd against opposing point guards should help him attain that total. Hill is a steady pick for the price here, making him a solid target in cash games.

3 - Evan Fournier – SG – Orlando (FanDuel Price: $5,500)

The shooting guard position is pretty weak tonight. Taking Fournier at a reduced salary isn’t a bad pick at all. He has been up and down since returning from injury, but the minutes have been stable for the most part. Playing up in pace against a Portland team that ranks 26th in team defensive efficiency is a decent spot to deploy Fournier.

4 - Aaron Gordon – SF – Orlando (FanDuel Price: $4,600)

Reports suggest that Serge Ibaka could return tonight. I still believe there is upside in Gordon’s game, especially in a quality matchup playing up in pace against a Portland team that ranks 20th vs opposing small forwards. Hopefully the encouraging recent performances have carved out a bigger, more stable role moving forward.

5 - Nerlens Noel – PF – Philadelphia (FanDuel Price: $4,700)

I’m not in love with Noel, but he’s a decent value pick in this spot. There aren’t many true bargains jumping off the screen at the power forward position, making Noel more of a de facto value selection. He is playing around 25 minutes per game with tremendous efficiency that could continue tonight.

T.J. McConnell – PG – Philadelphia (FanDuel Price: $5,400)

I prefer George Hill in this price range. However, if you don’t quite have enough salary to float him, McConnell is not a bad “Plan B”. He is seeing 36 minutes with a 30 FPPG over the past six as Philadelphia’s starting point guard.

Shabazz Muhammad – SF – Minnesota (FanDuel Price: $3,800)

Muhammad is a nice small forward value if Zach LaVine is ruled out. He is listed as a game-time decision, so there’s a good chance we won’t find out before lineups lock. If LaVine is determined out, Shabazz becomes an easy pick.

Dion Waiters – SG – Miami (FanDuel Price: $4,900)

If you need a shooting guard pick even cheaper than Evan Fournier, I don’t mind looking towards Dion Waiters. Miami’s backcourt rotation is somewhat thin with Josh Richardson out, and Waiters benefitted with 38 minutes last game. A full complement of minutes could lead him towards value yet again.
