FanDuel NBA Bargains: Saturday

by Spencer Limbach
Updated On: October 4, 2018, 4:04 pm ET

When looking at bargains on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower. I’ll be ranking these picks by priority to your lineups for tonight’s four-game slate starting at 7:30 ET.

Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.

Now onto the bargain plays.

1 – Dirk Nowitzki – PF – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $6,000)

Dirk is a nice mid-range solution to this abbreviated slate. He has been hovering around his value threshold of 30 points over the past few weeks, and this is not a back-to-back situation where we need to be concerned with limited minutes. Making matters even better, Toronto ranks 23rd in defensive efficiency against opposing power forwards.

2 – Noah Vonleh – PF – Portland (FanDuel Price: $3,800)

Vonleh has been solid as of late, seeing more playing time and hitting 20+ fantasy points in four of the past five. There’s a good chance he keeps that momentum in a relative high-scoring tilt with Minnesota. The minutes have bumped up to the 28-32 range, which helps solidify Vonleh’s fantasy potential at this near-minimum price point. Needless to say, he’s a targetable bargain in all formats tonight.

3 – Seth Curry – SG – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $5,300)

The game log doesn’t look very inspiring, but there’s reason to believe Curry can produce a solid performance tonight. The Mavericks mentioned they want him to play more point guard moving forward. Curry was the starting floor general vs the Clippers on Thursday, chipping in 30 fantasy points in 35 minutes. I’m thinking we’ll see a performance similar to that tonight, as having the ball in his hands really bolsters the fantasy floor/upside combination.

4 – Wesley Matthews – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $4,500)

As it turns out, Dallas is the place to shop for value tonight. Matthews doesn’t look as good as his teammate, Curry, in this matchup. However, you could realistically use both of them at shooting guard tonight. On a four-game slate, we don’t have many plays begging for a spot in our lineups. If you can’t reach Bradley Beal or C.J. McCollum, Matthews is a reasonable value filler logging heavy minutes.

5 – Mindaugas Kuzminskas – New York (FanDuel Price: $4,000)

Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, and Lance Thomas are all questionable tonight. Those three missed last game, elevating Kuzminskas to the starting lineup. “Kuz” ran with that role en route to 27 FP in 32 minutes. If Anthony is out again, Kuzminskas will likely draw another start to represent viable value in this shortened slate.
