When looking at “bargains” on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower.
We have another three-game playoff slate upon us, meaning I will be ranking the top five bargains by priority to your FanDuel NBA lineups.
Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.
Now onto the bargain plays.
1 - Andre Iguodala – SF – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $3,900)
This pick hinges on Stephen Curry’s availability. As of Thursday early afternoon, Curry is considered highly questionable, possibly even borderline doubtful. I’m guessing the Warriors won’t press him to return earlier than he has to. On top of that, the spread is somewhat low with Golden State favored by five, signifying that the Vegas oddsmakers don’t think Curry will play either. If that’s the case, Andre Iguodala will see a major uptick in playing time and usage rate as the point-forward for Golden State. He filled that role nicely for 31 FP in 33 minutes last game, and a similar performance seems very likely.
2 - Shaun Livingston – PG – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $3,700)
Speaking to the same theme as Iguodala, Shaun Livingston would also see a sizable uptick if Curry doesn’t play. He played 29 minutes for 29 fantasy points with Curry out last game. While the playing time isn’t much more than his usual 22-25 minute role, the added efficiency is enough to make Livingston a valuable play for near-minimum salary.
3 - Serge Ibaka – PF – Oklahoma City (FanDuel Price: $5,900)
Ibaka is a pretty obvious pick as a PF2 this evening. I’d say Ibaka and Draymond Green are the chalk combination at this position. It’s probably best to accept that strategy and get sneaky elsewhere, because other picks are really capturing my intrigue at power forward. Ibaka has been solid this series, putting up 36 and 28 fantasy points respectively against a Dallas team that ranks 25th in defensive efficiency against the power forward position.
4 - Raymond Felton – PG – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $5,300)
This pick is contingent on the status of Deron Williams and J.J. Barea. Both are considered questionable, and Felton would become a safe pick if one (or both) do not play this evening. Felton churned out a very good 37 fantasy point outing (42 minutes) last game, so we could look to him for cheap upside if the injury news breaks in his favor.
5 - Wesley Matthews – SG – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $4,700)
Matthews isn’t an exciting play, but he sees a ton of playing time for Dallas, making him a nice value filler. The price fits well into a solid lineup, and there aren’t really any other value shooting guards to consider. Even though he has been pretty “blah” this series, I’ll continue to fire him up as a cheap SG2 play with stable minutes.
