FanDuel NBA Bargains Wednesday

When looking at “bargains” on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower.

We have a quality 8-game slate on tap tonight, meaning I will be ranking the top ten bargains by priority to your FanDuel NBA lineups.

Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.

Now onto the bargain plays.

1 - J.J. Barea – PG – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $5,900)

Barea has taken the starting point guard job for Dallas and run away with it. Deron Williams is still out, and Raymond Felton is battling through injury. This means Barea will continue to eat up all the minutes and usage as the Mavs’ floor general. He is averaging a solid 37 FPPG over the past four, and he should be within that range in a fast-paced, high-scoring, competitive draw vs Houston.

2 - Maurice Harkless – SF – Portland (FanDuel Price: $4,400)

Harkless is still cheap despite his surging recent production. He is averaging 29 FPPG over his last five, including a breakout 44 FP performance last night at Sacramento. He has been a scoring and rebounding threat, hitting double-digit boards in three of the past four games. The matchup isn’t necessarily great against Oklahoma City, but he’s cheap and should see plenty of minutes to hit value again.

3 - Reggie Jackson – PG – Detroit (FanDuel Price: $5,900)

Jackson another solid point guard that you could use in conjunction with Barea. His minutes have been marginally trending down, but they seem stable around 32-33 lately. More importantly, his salary has dipped accordingly, meaning we aren’t overpaying for his new role. Despite that, Jackson has contributed 29+ FP in each of the past three games. He’s taking on an Orlando team that ranks in the bottom ten vs opposing point guards.

4 - Jeremy Lin – SG – Charlotte (FanDuel Price: $4,200)

If Nicolas Batum (questionable) is ruled out, Lin becomes one of the best value plays on the board. If Batum plays, Lin is reduced to a tournament only option, as his minutes would become less stable. Batum missed yesterday’s game, and Lin took advantage with 35 fantasy points in 40 minutes. The draw against a non-imposing New York backcourt could create more room for production if Lin gets the opportunity.

5 - Markieff Morris – PF – Washington (FanDuel Price: $5,500)

There is some blowout potential here, but the cheap price and insanely good matchup make up for the risk. Morris has been trending upward in playing time and production, hitting a total of 77 fantasy points in 70 minutes over the past two games. Now, he’s facing a Brooklyn team that ranks dead last in defensive efficiency against power forwards. This should lead to another efficient line from Kieff.

6 - Wesley Matthews – SG – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $5,100)

Matthews has become a stable fantasy shooting guard ever since Chandler Parsons went down with a season-ending injury. He’s averaging a very solid 27 FPPG over the past eight, and I fully expect him to be within that range once again. Houston ranks below average in defensive efficiency against the shooting guard position, and this is one of the few high-scoring, competitive battles of the night.

7 - Thomas Robinson – PF – Brooklyn (FanDuel Price: $6,000)

Robinson’s price is climbing, but he’s still someone to target regardless. With Lopez and Young out for the season, Robinson will continue to be the Nets only true frontcourt/rebounding presence. That bodes well against a Washington team that ranks in the bottom ten in defensive efficiency against opposing power forwards and rebound rate.

8 - Alexis Ajinca – C – New Orleans (FanDuel Price: $4,300)

Ajinca has taken over as New Orleans starting big man, and they desperately need him with injuries to essentially their entire team. He has put up some high-upside fantasy totals over the past few weeks, and tonight could be similar against a non-imposing Boston frontcourt. If you can’t reach up for Drummond or Vucevic, Ajinca checks in as a decent value alternative.

9 - Derrick Williams – PF – New York (FanDuel Price: $3,700)

Williams is in play only if Kristaps Porzingis (questionable) is ruled out. In that case, D-Will would likely see 30-35 minutes against a Charlotte frontcourt that ranks in the bottom ten against opposing power forwards. Keep an eye on the injury report to see if we can get an update on Porzingis.

10 - Justin Anderson – SF – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $4,000)

I would rather have Mo Harkless if deciding between the two, but Anderson isn’t a bad value filler tonight. He’s facing a Houston team that ranks in the bottom five against opposing small forwards. On top of that, Anderson is averaging 27 minutes and 23 fantasy points over the past four games. Even though he doesn’t have much upside, that’s a pretty reasonable projection for him this evening.
