When looking at bargains on FanDuel, typically we’ll focus on players who are priced at $6,000 or lower. I’ll be ranking these picks by priority to your lineups for tonight’s 10-game slate starting at 7:00 ET.
Just a quick note that these player picks were organized early in the day. For the NBA, there is usually a plethora of news trickling out through the afternoon, which could open up some more value plays. Be sure to keep posted with the NBA Headlines & Injuries section, as the wonderful contributors over there will break down the DFS consequences of every piece of news.
Now onto the bargain plays.
1 – Rajon Rondo – PG – New Orleans (FanDuel Price: $6,000)
Rondo makes for a solid mid-range bargain through all formats tonight. Despite only logging around 28 minutes in each of his past three games, Rondo has amassed 36+ FP every time. Facing a Denver team that ranks 27th in defensive efficiency vs opposing point guards and 26th in assists allowed should help Rondo produce within that range yet again. Not to mention, his offensive role is more solidified with Anthony Davis doubtful.
2 – Jordan Bell – PF – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $3,600)
Draymond Green is doubtful tonight, meaning Jordan Bell should see an uptick in minutes. At the time of writing this post, we aren’t sure who will step in for Draymond as the starter. There’s a chance Golden State could move Durant to the four, starting Iguodala at small forward. There’s also a chance Jordan Bell could start at power forward. Either way, Bell should see 20+ minutes, which bolsters his efficient production levels into serious fantasy consideration. Green missed a game earlier this season (11/24 vs Chicago), where Bell stepped in for a whopping 43 FP in 26 minutes. It won’t take much for Bell to reach value on this near-minimum salary, and there’s certainly upside beyond that if the minutes correspond.
3 – E’Twaun Moore – SG – New Orleans (FanDuel Price: $4,800)
Moore has seen a boost in playing time lately, averaging 36 minutes over the past three. The production has followed with an average of 28 FPPG through that span. He’s picking up some of the usage void left by Anthony Davis, who is doubtful again tonight. The matchup looks good vs Denver in the highest over/under of this slate (218). I’m confident Moore can surpass his value threshold of 25-26 fantasy points, serving as a nice SG2 in all formats.
4 – Andre Iguodala – SF – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $4,000)
As mentioned earlier, Draymond Green is doubtful tonight. On top of that, Stephen Curry and Patrick McCaw have been ruled out. More minutes and usage could funnel to Iguodala as a result, especially if he’s promoted to the starting lineup. As a result, he represents a solid value filler to offset the cost of your highly sought-after superstars like Durant, Cousins, Thompson, etc.
5 – Taj Gibson – PF – Minnesota (FanDuel Price: $5,700)
Taj Gibson has been a mainstay in this column, and he makes another appearance in this 10-game slate. He’ll continue to log heavy minutes for Minnesota, solidifying himself as a solid cash commodity with a non-prohibitive price point. For this salary, you only need 28-29 fantasy points for Taj to be considered in his value threshold. He has been within that range in five of his last six games, including a 32 FP effort on Sunday against the same Clippers team he’ll see tonight.
Both of these guys stand to benefit with Nikola Jokic out. Both of them have borderline cash consideration, but I’m entertaining them in the tournament arena myself. Faried has been a solid contributor ever since Jokic went down with injury, but there’s some foul risk going against DeMarcus Cousins and company. I like Taj Gibson’s secure playing time more, but Faried is right behind him for a similar salary … There’s some foul risk for Mason Plumlee as well, but he could log reasonable minutes if he avoids it. On FanDuel, there’s a ton of opportunity cost at center (Cousins, Drummond, KAT, Vucevic), which has me looking towards Plumlee as more of a GPP option despite the increased workload.
DeAndre Bembry – SF – Atlanta (FanDuel Price: $3,800)
Bembry is in a similar conversation to Andre Iguodala while looking for a value SF2 on FanDuel. I personally prefer Iguodala when comparing the two, especially consider the Golden State forward could see more minutes tonight. However, Bembry deserves to be mentioned in this column while stepping up for the shorthanded Atlanta frontcourt. With John Collins and Dedmon out the past two games (both out again tonight), Bembry has averaged 24 minutes and 23 FP.
Shaun Livingston – PG – Golden State (FanDuel Price: $4,300)
Even though Livingston will see more minutes with Curry, McCaw, and Green doubtful, he’s not necessarily a 100% must play. Having said that, he’s a decent value filler if you need someone in this price range. His profile doesn’t lend itself to much fantasy significance, but there’s a chance Livingston reaches value through sheer playing time.
