FanDuel NBA Plays: Saturday

For DFS purposes, we will examine the seven games that start at 7:30 pm or later. The slate offers quite a few games that offer rather high point spreads, therefore the DFS appeal appears limited.  Throughout this article we will identify some solid top end players and some coinciding value plays to target in your cash games. The following recommendations are specific to FanDuel’s scoring system and salaries.

Point Guard

Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors $9,800 - With DeMar DeRozan reportedly close to a return, the opportunity to invest in the increased usage rate from Kyle Lowry is nearing an end. Lowry has been playing excellent as of late with at least 41 fantasy points in seven out of eight games. The match-up versus Boston is a good one due to Toronto playing way up in pace (Boston is the second-fastest team). The game has a very appealing over/under of 210 as well.

Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets $5,900 - Jack will be a very popular play until his price rises. With Deron Williams out indefinitely, Jack will continue to log around 40 minutes on a nightly basis. Last night Jack played 37 minutes and produced 36 fantasy points in the loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. I highly recommend playing Jack on a nightly basis until his price receives a significant boost.

Shooting Guard

Wesley Matthews, Portland Trail Blazers $6,000 - Shooting guard is a very difficult position to sort out on Saturday night. Considering the difficulty, I think it makes sense to target a guy that commonly logs heavy minutes. Matthews fits the minute’s criteria, as he frequently pushes for 40 minutes of action in close games. At his current price point of $6,000, anything in the range of 28-30 fantasy points would do the trick.

Evan Turner, Boston Celtics, $5,300 - With a Jeff Green trade looming, Evan Turner will be locked into heavy minutes. Turner becomes very valuable to the Celtics because he can play any position, 1-3. Last night, Turner played 38 minutes on his way to an impressive 39.5 fantasy point performance. Until the Jeff Green trade sorts itself out, Evan Turner will be a very hot DFS commodity.

Small Forward

Andrew Wiggins, Minnesota Timberwolves, $6,900 - I’ve personally been targeting Andrew Wiggins each night that he has played for over a week now. Wiggins has yet to disappoint in any of his last seven games. During this seven game stretch, he has played a minimum of 37 minutes and produced at least 31 fantasy points in each game. Wiggins is on the verge of receiving a rather large price bump, therefore tonight might be the last chance to receive a discount on this emerging superstar.

C.J. Miles, Indiana Pacers, $5,300 - Miles is in great spot on Saturday night when the Pacers face-off with the Philadelphia 76ers. Miles has been playing quite well as of late and now gets a dream match-up against a team that really struggles at defending wing players. Additionally, the 76ers allow the most three pointers per game, which is obviously Miles' strongest skill. The playing time for Miles appears to be safe, as he has played at least 32 minutes in five of his last six games.

Power Forward

LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers, $10,000 - The price on Aldridge has come down a little bit after a couple disappointing performances. The good thing about Aldridge is the fact that he rarely has that terrible performance that is bad enough to completely ruin your lineups. Aldridge draws a match-up with the Orlando Magic on Saturday, who do not have a player on their roster that is capable of containing him. The only real drawback here is the blowout potential with Portland favored by 11.5. However, if you take a look at the game slate, this is an issue in the majority of games. Aldridge is great top end target on Saturday.

Donatas Motiejunas, Houston Rockets, $5,300 - Motiejunas reclaimed his starting job last game, as the Rockets finally decided to move the mess that is Josh Smith back to the bench. Motiejunas was very solid in this start finishing with 34.9 fantasy points in 36 minutes of action. He has played at least 27 minutes in four straight contests, which appears to show some security in his playing time. Motiejunas is a solid bargain option for Saturday night.

Center

Roy Hibbert, Indiana Pacers, $5,200 - Hibbert was questionable heading into Friday's game with the Boston Celtics. Not only did Hibbert end up playing on Friday, he exploded for 46.2 fantasy points in 36 minutes of action. Hibbert nearly doubled his value threshold on his very modest price tag. At his current price of $5,200, Hibbert is clearly one of the best bargains on this seven-game slate.
