FanDuel NBA Plays: Saturday

After last night’s huge 14-game slate, we are left with a small four-game slate for tonight’s FanDuel contests. However, there is a great game between the Warriors and Clippers with a 220-point total, as well as plenty of injuries to monitor in Miami, so confirm your picks are starting prior to tipoff by checking the Starting Lineups Page.

Point Guard

Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers, $10,000 - This Warriors/Clippers game should be a ton of fun as both teams do not like each other and it checks in with a total of 220 points. The Warriors are a quality defense, but they play at a breakneck pace, and have been roasted by PGs recently. Elite PGs like Damian Lillard, John Wall, and Russell Westbrook all have torched them, and this is the type of game Paul loves. He’s put the Clippers on his shoulders with Blake out, and with Vegas expecting this one to remain close, that means a big game from CP3 should be in store.

Goran Dragic, Miami Heat, $5,600 - There are three PGs I love today, so I’m going to have plenty of Paul, Stephen Curry and Goran Dragic. Dragic was terrific with Wade and Bosh out last night, and should continue to see increased usage with Bosh out. He takes a slight hit if Wade returns, but his price point is still very attractive and he’s played well against the Wizards this season, averaging 19 PPG and seven assists. Despite a tough matchup with Chris Paul, I also like this spot for Curry and think we see a strong effort from the Warriors after they were embarrassed last night.  Paul is a great defender, but we should get four quarters of action from the Warriors’ starters tonight, and Curry has averaged 35 real PPG against the Clips this season.

Shooting Guard

Gerald Green, Miami Heat, $3,500 - This pick hinges on the health of Dwyane Wade, who missed last night’s game and is set to get an MRI today. If Wade is ruled out for a second consecutive game, then Green becomes a terrific value play at the bare minimum. He started and played 37 minutes last night en route to 26 FD points, which easily exceeds his value threshold. The Wizards have struggled all season long to defend wings and are 26th in DVP against SG so the matchup is certainly there. If Wade suits up, then Kyle Korver is a cheap pivot at just $4,100 and has reached 6x value in four straight games.

Kyle Korver, Atlanta Hawks, $4,100 - I like Khris Middleton as a cash game option if you are spending, but SG is a position I like to punt when possible, and tonight there are several cheap options. Zach LaVine and Jamal Crawford are also quality options, but Kyle Korver is flying under the radar right now. Most have written him off but he’s starting to emerge and is still dirt cheap. He’s now hit 6x value in four straight games, and faces a Milwaukee defense that is 25th in DVP against SG.

Also Consider - Khris Middleton, Zach LaVine (if he starts), Jamal Crawford, Klay Thompson

Small Forward

Luol Deng, Miami Heat, $4,800 - With Hassan Whiteside, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade all out last night, he started at PF and blew up for 50 FD points. Hassan is expected to return, but Chris Bosh is out and Wade sounds questionable at best. Regardless of Wade’s status, it sounds like he’ll continue to start at PF with Bosh out, which gives him a solid rebounding boost. The Wizards have struggled recently against PF, and Deng will shoulder more offensive responsibilities with Bosh sidelined and Wade potentially sidelined.

Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks, $9,100 - On my lineups where I’m using Dragic and just one of Paul or Curry, I’m looking to spend up to Melo. He’s been very good recently as he’s topped 40 FD points in five of his last seven, and is averaging 37 MPG over his past five games. The Knicks have a solid team total and Minnesota has a solid interior defense so this points to a quality game from Melo to shoulder the scoring load from the outside. He had a big outing against Minnesota in the first meeting between these two with 20 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists.

Also Consider - Justice Winslow, Harrison Barnes, Giannis Antetokounmpo

Power Forward

Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors, $8,400 - I’m expecting a big bounce-back effort from the Warriors tonight, and Green’s price point is down as he’s been struggling recently. However, he’s flashed 50 FD-point upside just five games ago, and with Blake Griffin out, the Clippers don’t have anyone to matchup with him.  He struggled in the first meeting between these two teams, but put up 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists in their last meeting.

Jabari Parker, Milwaukee Bucks, $4,900 - Jabari has put together back-to-back strong performances and has topped 40 minutes in each of those games. If he’s going to see those type of minutes, then he’s someone that needs to be on our radar at this cheap price point. The matchup against the Hawks is solid as Atlanta is the worst rebounding team in the NBA and 17th in DVP against PF.

Also Consider - Paul Millsap, Gorgui Dieng

Center

DeAndre Jordan, Los Angeles Clippers, $8,600 - He draws a tough matchup with the defense of Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green, but the pace of this game and his recent play makes him a strong option tonight. The total is set at 220 points and Jordan has finally started to play like most expected him to with Blake Griffin out. He’s been a monster on the glass and has topped 40 FD points in five of his last seven games.  I also like Karl-Anthony Towns, but am leaning towards Jordan as my favorite cash game option.
