FanDuel NBA Plays: Saturday

I’m here to break down tonight’s four-game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 7:30 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape throughout the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.

With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.

Dennis Smith Jr. – Dallas (FanDuel Price: $6,900)

Injuries have really taken their toll on Memphis, resulting in a substantial drop in their defensive efficiency metrics. In fact, the Grizzlies have been one of the worst teams at defending opposing point guards over the past month. Dennis Smith Jr. has the ability to take full advantage tonight, and he should easily reach value above the 35 fantasy point threshold. Even better, you can realistically work DSJ and Russell Westbrook next to each other on FanDuel. There’s enough value on this slate to make that happen – more on that later in the article.

Also Consider: Russell Westbrook, Goran Dragic

Bradley Beal – Washington (FanDuel Price: $8,300)

There’s a ton of value in the frontcourt tonight, so I’m looking to load up on superstars in the backcourt. I mentioned in the previous write-up how you could mesh Westbrook and Smith Jr in the same lineup. You could conceivably pick Bradley Beal and Lou Williams alongside them as well. Both of these shooting guards represent high-upside options. Beal’s matchup doesn’t look great on paper, but this is a competitive draw that should require plenty of usage (even if his efficiency takes a small hit). This is a fair salary as well, given Beal’s ability to post 40+ FP on any given night – especially with John Wall still sidelined.

Also Consider: Lou Williams, Dwyane Wade

Mario Hezonja – Orlando (FanDuel Price: $4,800)

Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon will continue to miss time moving forward. That keeps Mario Hezonja locked into a 30-35 minute role for Orlando. He was mediocre in that spot last game, posting 22 FP through 33 minutes at Sacramento yesterday. The playing time and opportunities will continue to flow his way, and Hezonja should be able to post a solid return in this high-scoring matchup at LAC.

Also Consider: Justise Winslow, Jonathan Simmons, Dillon Brooks

JaMychal Green – Memphis (FanDuel Price: $5,800)

After posting back-to-back 40+ FP performances to begin the month, JaMychal Green has followed that up with a pair of duds (21 and 13 FP respectively). Despite that, his workload has remained stable around 30+ minutes. There’s a good chance the playing time and usage will be extended with Marc Gasol doubtful. The matchup looks pretty good as well, given that Dallas struggles vs opposing frontcourt players and in rebound rate. Add it all up, and Green emerges as a confident bounce-back lift.

Also Consider: Montrezl Harrell, Markieff Morris

Deyonta Davis – Memphis (FanDuel Price: $3,800)

As mentioned in the previous write-up, Marc Gasol is doubtful tonight. There’s a chance Memphis decides to run some small-ball, but Deyonta Davis should see around 20-25 minutes (and fantasy value) through sheer attrition. Davis has posted some strong FP/minute performances when seeing the floor this season, and Dallas struggles vs opposing bigs.

Also Consider: Nikola Vucevic, Hassan Whiteside
