FanDuel NBA Plays: Sunday

While most eyes will be locked in on NFL Sunday, let’s not forget that there is a fun abbreviated NBA slate for us to play also.  FanDuel is offering nearly half a million dollars in guaranteed contests today, so without further ado, on to the analysis!

Point Guard

John Wall – WAS vs DAL - $8,900 – Washington is incredibly shorthanded right now with Marcin Gortat in Poland attending to his ailing mother and the trio of Kris Humphries, Nene Hilario and Drew Gooden all listed again as questionable after they missed Friday’s contest against Phoenix.  In two of his last three games, Wall has posted 58+ FanDuel points and this is an excellent matchup for him again Sunday.

Stephen Curry – GSW at BKN - $11,100 – Curry and the Golden State Warriors are in rarified air right now and they are heading into Brooklyn today looking to advance their winning streak to 22 games.  Most gamers are going to look at this price point and seemingly easy victory and save a little by choosing Russell Westbrook – OKC vs SAC - $10,800 which means that Curry’s popularity will be somewhat suppressed in tournament play.

Other Options – Reggie Jackson, Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal – WAS vs DAL - $7,500 – For the same reason that I want to have John Wall on my rosters, I am looking to Bradley Beal.  Since returning from a shoulder injury in late November, Beal has been outstanding, and he has the potential to approach the 40 fantasy point plateau in this matchup.

Dion Waiters – OKC vs SAC - $4,700 – This is a great spot for Dion Waiters today as the Sacramento Kings have been the worst team at defending shooting guards over the last three seasons.  We should see Waiters in the 20-25 fantasy point range with 30+ upside in this matchup. This game will feature plenty of points, as Vegas has installed a total over 220, by far the highest of the day.

Other Options – Eric Bledsoe, Wesley Matthews, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Small Forward

Marcus Morris – DET vs LAL - $6,300 – Morris has been outstanding since being acquired by the Pistons and this is one of the easier matchups he will see all season.  Anything less than 30 FanDuel points will be disappointing, and we did see Morris flash his upside with 24 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals on Wednesday against Phoenix, which is of course his former team.  Teammate Stanley Johnson - $3,500 Johnson displayed his boom/bust upside as the rookie small forward hit for a career best 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks on the way to 37.5 FanDuel points on Monday.  He warrants consideration if you are looking for an extreme value play.

Other Options – Kevin Durant, Rudy Gay, Jeff Green, Otto Porter Jr

Power Forward

Thaddeus Young – BKN vs GS - $6,600 – Over his last eleven games, Young has been under 30 FanDuel points just twice.  This will not be an easy matchup as he will likely be guarded by Draymond Green - $8,100 but even bad teams in tough matchups produce fantasy points in basketball and while Young’s upside is capped, he should be in the mix again for thirty fantasy points.

Ersan Ilyasova – DET vs LAL - $4,400 – Yes, the days of Ersanity are fewer and farther between, however, he can still be a difference maker in tournaments if you can catch him on the right night.  Signs point to this matchup against the Lakers as potentially being one of those rare big games.  At his current price point he is a nice option in tournaments as he will allow you to spend at other positions.

Other Options – Draymond Green, Julius Randle

Zaza Pachulia – DAL at WAS - $6,600 – The Wizards frontcourt is paper thin right now, heck, on Friday they turned to ten-year veteran Ryan Hollins to start after acquiring him a few days prior.  Zaza has been sneaky good this season averaging a double-double and frequently surpassing 30 FanDuel points.

Andre Drummond – DET vs LAL - $9,600 – This just feels like a 20/20 game waiting to happen for Drummond. The matchup is great, and he’s been a machine on the boards and in the paint this season.

Other Options DeMarcus Cousins, Brook Lopez, Festus Ezeli
