Tonight we have a very interesting six-game slate. We have some really tough spots to make decisions, but I feel like we have some great spots for a few players. We still have some injury news we’re waiting on, and hopefully that opens up some extra value. Let’s get into my top plays for FanDuel tonight.
George Hill: $6,800 (vs. Houston)
With no Westbrook on this slate and Chris Paul in an expected blowout game, I really like the mid-range options at point guard tonight. With Beverly back for Houston they’ve been much better against point guards. With that being said, there have only been four starting point guards to play over 30 minutes against Beverly this season, and the lowest fantasy point total was 27.8 points by Ish Smith. Hill has played in 10 games this season, and has at least 30 fantasy points in eight of those games. He’s averaging over a fantasy point per minute and I like him in this pace-up game against the Rockets tonight.
Jordan Clarkson: $5,200 (vs. New Orleans)
Clarkson and Williams are two of my favorite value plays on this slate. This game has one of the highest implied totals per NBA Odds, and should be one of the closest games tonight. With Russell already ruled out for tonight’s game, Clarkson becomes an excellent value play with a 28.9% usage rate without Russell on the floor this season. Clarkson is averaging 30.47 fantasy points over the last four games with Russell out. The Pelicans are allowing the second most fantasy points per game this season and are ranked 26th in DvP against point guards and 27th against shooting guards. It doesn’t matter what guard position Clarkson plays tonight, he’s in a good spot either way.
LeBron James: $10,100 (vs. Milwaukee)
Small forward is one of the weakest positions on the slate tonight and I really like the idea of paying up for LeBron in cash games. The Bucks have allowed the ninth most fantasy points to opposing small forwards this season. They really don’t have anyone to matchup with LeBron, nor do most teams in the NBA. James has at least 54.5 fantasy points in three of his last five games. I expect this to be a competitive game, and with Irving in a tough matchup, I expect LeBron to be one of the safest options on the board tonight.
Anthony Davis: $12,000 (vs. LA Lakers)
It’s always really risky to roll out Anthony Davis, but he’s been an absolute beast for fantasy this season. The Lakers have struggled with power forwards this season, allowing the fifth most fantasy points to the position this season. Davis has at least 58.6 FanDuel fantasy points in five of his last six games, and the game he didn’t was the game he missed over two quarters with an injury. Davis has a 31.4% true usage rate and he’s averaging 2.09 touches per minute this season. Davis has the highest upside on this slate, and I’m willing to risk him in all formats tonight.
Rudy Gobert: $6,800 (vs. Houston)
Center is a tricky position tonight, but I feel like there are a few guys we can look at. Gobert has a very solid price tag on FanDuel tonight, and he’s been playing really well with Favors out of the lineup. He has at least 32.5 fantasy points in five of the last six games and he’s averaging 4.6 more fantasy points this season with Favors off the floor. Houston is ranked middle of the road in defense against centers, allowing the 13th most fantasy points per game to the position. As long as Favors is out tonight, Gobert seems to be a safe cash game option.
