Tonight we have a very solid six-game slate. With so many decisions to make, you have to nail your value plays tonight. This is one of the best six-game slates we’ve had all season, so let’s get into my top plays for FanDuel. With all the injury situations we see night in and night out, DFS Alerts is a crucial tool to utilize to stay on top of all the moving pieces.
Brandon Jennings: $5,600 (vs. Washington Wizards)
With Derrick Rose out tonight, Jennings is in a good spot and I’m going to overlook the tough matchup against Washington. Jennings is averaging 31.25 FanDuel points per game in his last four starts for Rose and has at least 29 minutes in each of those games. He played 53 minutes and went for 39.1 fantasy points in his start on Sunday’s, and even though we can’t look at that four overtime game, it just shows Jennings will have the run at point guard. Jennings is averaging over a fantasy point per minute in starts for Rose this season, and like I said above, I’m just overlooking the tough matchup.
James Harden: $12,500 (vs. Sacramento Kings)
I tend to stay away from writing up high-priced guys in this article, but I think James Harden is the safest play on the board tonight. With McCollum and DeRozan overpriced, I think it’s a great idea to avoid them and spend up for Harden. The Houston Rockets have the highest implied team total on the slate tonight, and this should be a very fast paced, up-and-down type of game. Harden has at least 50 fantasy points in four of his last five games, and he’s coming off a bad game against the Pacers. This is an excellent bounce-back spot for him, and I’m locking him in for cash games tonight.
Danilo Gallinari: $7,000 (vs. LA Lakers)
The Denver Nuggets will be my highest targeted team on tonight’s slate, and with no Jokic, Gallinari is one of the safest options on the slate. He’s been really aggressive in the last two games, and he’s ended up attempting 23 free throws. Without Jokic tonight, Gallinari will be relied on to score with this first unit and he draws an excellent matchup against the Lakers. This game has the highest projected pace on the slate, and the Lakers allow the second most fantasy points per game this season. The Lakers really struggle with wing players, and Gallinari is a core play in all formats tonight.
Kenneth Faried: $6,600 (vs. LA Lakers)
Like Gallinari, Faried had an excellent game on Saturday without Jokic in the lineup. Faried is a point per minute game fantasy scorer, and should continue to see over 30 minutes without Jokic tonight. Faried had two blocks and two steals on Saturday, and even if we take away those eight fantasy points he would have crushed value at this price tag. The Lakers allow the most fantasy points per game to opposing power forwards and they’ll be a little light without Julius Randle tonight. This is by far the most stackable game on tonight’s slate, and should be a game you’re targeting very heavily in all formats.
DeMarcus Cousins: $11,400 (vs. Houston Rockets)
There’s a lot to like with Cousins and this entire game tonight. I mentioned Harden above, and I really like the idea of pairing these two guys together tonight. Cousins has a 42.1% usage rate without Rudy Gay on the floor this season. He’s had at least 60 fantasy points in four of the last six games, and back-to-backs have not slowed him down this season. This is an excellent matchup for him, and I don’t think Houston has anyone that can slow him down. Houston has a -0.63 DRPM against power forwards, and they’re ranked 24th in DvP. Cousins is my lock-and-load play tonight, and he will be my highest owned player in all formats. If you’re not paying up for Cousins, I really like Ivica Zubac as a value play.
