I’m here to break down tonight’s three game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 7:30 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape through the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.
With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.
Spencer Dinwiddie – Brooklyn (FanDuel Price: $5,800)
Dinwiddie missed Saturday’s game at Utah with a hamstring injury. Early reports suggest he’ll be ready for tonight, taking over starting point guard duties with D’Angelo Russell sidelined. While Dinwiddie’s recent game log doesn’t inspire much confidence, the fourth year player has showcased striking fantasy upside when the minutes correspond. That includes a strong 38 FP performance (31 minutes) vs Cleveland on October 25 – a game that Dinwiddie started in place of Russell. Pencil him in as a strong mid-range pick through all formats tonight.
James Harden – Houston (FanDuel Price: $12,500)
The salary has ballooned on FanDuel, but I’m targeting James Harden regardless. There are only three games on tonight’s slate, seemingly carrying enough value to make Harden a priority selection despite the cumbersome price tag. After all, Harden has been a fantasy beast with 68 FPPG over his past four. He’s locked into another high-scoring home tilt vs Toronto.
DeMarre Carroll – Brooklyn (FanDuel Price: $6,200)
Carroll isn’t necessarily a must play, but I’m viewing him as a solid mid-range accent within this abbreviated slate. The Brooklyn forward has been a solid fantasy contributor this season while averaging 29 FPPG. Essentially, you’d be satisfied with an average game somewhere in the neighborhood of that range. There’s a chance Carroll will see more work on offense with D’Angelo Russell out.
Serge Ibaka – Toronto (FanDuel Price: $5,300)
The power forward position doesn’t inspire much confidence tonight. My strategy entails finding whatever combination blends most favorably with the rest of my lineup, choosing between Ibaka, Tatum, Anderson, and (maybe) Nowitzki. Ibaka seems to have the best floor/ceiling combination of that group, profiling as a confident selection in this high-scoring draw. At this salary, you’re looking at 26-27 fantasy points to meet value. Ibaka reminded us of his upside with a sweet 39 FP gem vs New Orleans last Thursday.
Clint Capela – Houston (FanDuel Price: $7,500)
Capela has been on a roll as of late, hitting 41+ fantasy points in three straight. The salary hasn’t quite adjusted for that increase, and we can take advantage in tonight’s high-scoring tilt vs Toronto. Capela has always been a FP/minute beast, the only problem coming when Houston played small-ball without him on the floor. However, Capela’s playing time has been trending in the right direction (30+ minutes in three straight), leading to the recent flood of production.
