FanDuel NBA Plays: Tuesday

I’m here to break down tonight’s five-game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 7:00 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape throughout the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.

With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.

Tyus Jones – Minnesota (FanDuel Price: $5,200)

Jeff Teague has been announced as a game-time decision tonight. If he misses his third straight contest, Tyus Jones becomes an excellent DFS value through all formats. Jones filled in for Teague with 33 and 51 fantasy points in 32 and 38 minutes respectively over the past two games. While some of that production is inflated by 11 total steals, Jones should have no problem retaining value if granted another start. The fact that he won’t have to worry about John Wall (out for several weeks) also helps the cause.

Also Consider: Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, Kris Dunn

Bradley Beal – Washington (FanDuel Price: $8,300)

Beal could be over $9000 on FanDuel and I still wouldn’t hesitate to roster him tonight. His usage rate will continue to ascend with John Wall out, and this is a high-scoring matchup against a Minnesota team that ranks 22nd in team defensive efficiency. Some people may be worried if Jimmy Butler follows Beal all night, but the extra opportunities should supersede that concern.

Also Consider: Khris Middleton, Will Barton, Rodney Hood, Justin Holiday

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee (FanDuel Price: $11,800)

The first thing you need to consider is whether or not there’s enough value to make Giannis’ hefty salary work. I believe there is tonight, making him a realistic option on FanDuel. I’ll take the Milwaukee superstar over LeBron James for a similar price, considering LBJ is playing on a back-to-back with a tougher matchup. Meanwhile, Giannis should thrive against a Sacramento team that ranks 22nd vs small forwards and 25th in team defensive efficiency.

Also Consider: Jimmy Butler, TJ Warren, Otto Porter

Taj Gibson – Minnesota (FanDuel Price: $5,300)

Gibson has been a value mainstay at the power forward position, and that should continue this evening. He sees a ton of minutes within Minnesota’s starting lineup, leading to a solid floor/ceiling combination. For this salary, Gibson only needs a minimum of 26-27 fantasy points to retain value. He’s averaging 26 FPPG on the season, and he should be able to get there against a Washington team that ranks 24th in defensive efficiency vs opposing power forwards.

Also Consider: Markieff Morris, John Henson

Marcin Gortat Washington (FanDuel Price: $4,900)

Gortat has been underwhelming from a fantasy perspective this season, but there’s a lot to like tonight. First off, he has played 35+ minutes in three of his past four games, amassing 31+ fantasy points in each of those. Second, his opponent (Minnesota) ranks 25th in defensive efficiency vs opposing centers and 22nd in team d-eff. Finally, Gortat could see more usage funnel his way with John Wall sidelined … Add it all up and you have a confident bargain selection in the Washington big man.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic, Willie Cauley-Stein
