FanDuel NBA Plays: Wednesday

NBA Wednesday is back with a big slate of games tonight. Let's dig in deeper now and find some top plays at each position for tonight’s FanDuel contests.

Point Guard

Kyle Lowry: $8,000 (vs. Detroit)

Russell Westbrook would be an easy selection here, but I like going in a different direction tonight. Kyle Lowry draws a solid matchup against Ish Smith, has averaged over one FD point per minute against Detroit last season, and provides a hefty $4,000 discount from Westbrook. As you will see later in this article, I feel spending up at the thin small forward position will be a difference maker in tournaments tonight.

Others to Consider:        Russell Westbrook, D’Angelo Russell

Shooting Guard

James Harden: $11,200 (vs. Los Angeles Lakers)

I tried to go a little bit contrarian at the point guard position where the easy pick was Russell Westbrook. However, at shooting guard I’m not even going to attempt to sell you on anybody else. There are other great options out there tonight, but I think James Harden ranks as the top overall player in my opinion. The price tag is high, but he is beyond capable of paying off that salary in the highest game totalof the night. He’s coming into the season with a new coach who stresses offensive play while not caring much about defense. It is a match made in heaven for the style of James Harden. He’s been a top-five fantasy player over the last two seasons and I think there is a distinct possibility he leads the NBA in fantasy scoring when it’s all said and done this season. I’m going to make sure to jump on that train early tonight and ride it throughout 2016-17.

Others to Consider:        Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo

Small Forward

Paul George: $9,500 (vs. Dallas)

I think Paul George is a huge piece tonight in winning tournaments around daily fantasy. He is by far and away the top option at this thin position tonight. However, his price tag is so high that no one is going to be able to roster him due to the fact that everybody wants to squeeze in Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Clearly, on paper, those guys have bigger projections, but I don’t think there’s any way Paul George ends this game tonight without dropping at least 40 FanDuel points. He also has massive upside to climb into the high 50s.

Others to Consider:        Rudy Gay, Aaron Gordon

Power Forward

Nikola Jokic: $6,300 (vs. New Orleans)

What we have in Denver is a changing of the guard. It appears as though they’re going to let their young, talented frontline take center stage. At least that is the hope as far as daily fantasy players are concerned. These guys are very talented. Nikola Jokic averaged 1.1 FanDuel points per minute last season. Anything over that one-point mark is considered extremely solid. I think it’s going to be very difficult for defenses to contain both of these twin towers for Denver, so I would expect that every night one of them comes through with a very big fantasy game.

Others to Consider: Anthony Davis, Serge Ibaka

Center

Nikola Vucevic: $7,700 (vs. Miami)

With the addition of Bismack Biyombo this off-season, it looked as though it would be very difficult to use Vucevic on a nightly basis. However, for the first game of the season we have Biyombo suspended. Vucevic is a guy who averaged 34.8 FanDuel points per game last season, and in three games against Miami his average was 40.8. As long as all components are healthy for the Orlando Magic, it’s going to be very difficult to trust this frontcourt. However, with tonight‘s suspension, I think it is a very reasonable play to expect 35+ points out of Vucevic.

Others to Consider:        Myles Turner, Jusuf Nurkic
