After an exciting night of NHL action on Thursday, we keep it rolling with a rare seven-game slate on this Friday evening. The Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks are tonight’s biggest favorites, and the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Winnipeg Jets and Chicago Blackhawks are all playing their second game in as many nights.
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.
John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks, $8,400 - Gibson looked superb in beating both the San Jose Sharks (23 saves and a shutout) and the Pittsburgh Penguins (stopping 23 of the 24 shots he faced) recently and he should win his third in a row tonight. The Carolina Hurricanes have not had much success on the road this year, averaging just over two goals per game. Gibson is a lock for the win and our best chance at a shutout this evening. If Frederik Andersen gets the call, look for a similar result.
Zach Parise, Minnesota Wild, $8,900 – Parise has looked great in his last two contests and it is just a matter of time before he explodes with a big game. After a solid start to the season, the Arizona Coyotes have come crashing down to Earth. The Desert Dogs have now lost five straight, allowing 24 goals against in the process. Parise has multi-goal potential this evening.
Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars, $8,700 – It is another night that we simply cannot fade Seguin in our cash games. The 23-year-old superstar had four points Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes and I see another big game for him tonight versus the defensively challenged Philadelphia Flyers.
Jeff Carter, Los Angeles Kings, $8,200 - It is not quite in Patrick Kane territory, but Jeff Carter is currently riding a seven-game point streak. Carter has been extremely consistent this season (11 G, 26 PTS, 83 SOG in 27 GP) and he has been a beast on the road (7 G, 14 PTS in 11 GP). Look for Carter to extend his point streak to eight games tonight versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Artemi Panarin, Chicago Blackhawks, $5,500 - Both of these hockey clubs are playing their second game in as many nights. The Chicago Blackhawks offense is really clicking right now and they are a scary offense on home ice. The Winnipeg Jets have really struggled on the back end this season and I expect more of the same in this contest. Panarin not only has huge upside, but he also gives you cheap exposure to the NHL’s scoring leader, Patrick Kane.
Ryan Suter, Minnesota Wild, $4,200 – Suter is having a terrific offensive season for the Minnesota Wild and he should be able to pad his stats in this game. The Arizona Coyotes have allowed the second-most goals against in the NHL this season and they sit in the bottom third of the league in most defensive categories. Suter is very moderately priced and he has multi-point upside in this plus matchup.
