Each day I will be providing my recommended player picks for your FanDuel daily fantasy hockey lineups.
My FanDuel NHL Plays will be broken down by player positions, and will include picks for cash games (50/50s/double-ups/head-to-head) and GPPs (guaranteed prize pool tournaments).

It is a quiet four-game slate in the National Hockey League tonight as we kick off the weekend. The Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames are your biggest favorites and we have three teams (Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes and the Anaheim Ducks) playing on the tail end of a back-to-back set.
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.
Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets, $6,700 – There a few solid options in goal tonight, but I see no reason to pay up, simply roster Hellebuyck and enjoy the discounted price.
The Carolina Hurricanes have one of the weakest offenses in hockey (2.38 goals per game, ranking 24th in the NHL), however they are firing over 30 shots on net per game, which is the perfect scenario for our cash game goalie. Look for Hellebuyck to make 25-plus saves and come away with the win tonight.
Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins, $9,500 – Crosby is some kind of hot right now. Sid the Kid lit up the Ottawa Senators (3 G, 4 PTS and 8 SOG) on Tuesday night and he has now registered 11 goals and 18 points in his last 12 contests. The matchup for Crosby may not be ideal versus a hot Tampa Bay Lightning team, but Sid is simply too hot to fade right now.
Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames, $8,600 – Johnny Hockey is simply a plug and play tonight. Gaudreau had a goal and an assist in the Calgary Flames’ 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night, and he continues to be an absolute stud on home ice (18 G, 36 PTS in 25 GP). Look for another dominant performance from Gaudreau in this plus matchup on home ice.
Nikita Kucherov, Tampa Bay Lightning, $6,900 - Kucherov is coming off a multi-point performance and he has now produced eight goals and 14 points in his last 12 games. Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning are playing their best hockey of the season and I expect them to produce again tonight. With his consistent play and moderate price, the 22-year-old Russian is one my top plays tonight.
Mark Giordano, Calgary Flames, $6,400 – The Calgary Flames Captain has started to pick up his offensive game and he is in a great spot to produce tonight. Even with the Columbus Blue Jackets playing better hockey of late and the strong goaltending of Joonas Korpisalo, they still lead the league in goals against per game. To make matters worse, Columbus also leads the league in minor penalties. Look for another big game from Giordano tonight against a defensively challenged Columbus Blue Jackets team playing in consecutive nights.
