The National Hockey League kicks of the week with an exciting four-game slate. The New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning are tonight’s biggest favorites, and none of the eight teams in action are playing in consecutive games.
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.
Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers, $9,200 – Lundqvist has been a little more inconsistent than would we like this season, but he is still an elite goaltender and he has been solid on home ice (2.23 GAA, .921 SV%). With only four games on the schedule, King Henrik is easily our best option in cash games. The New Jersey Devils don’t pose much of a threat offensively and Lundqvist should cruise to an easy victory.
Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins, $10,100 - Crosby has been a man on a mission lately, making up for a slow start the season. Sid the Kid is currently riding a ten-game point streak, including five of the multi-point variety. During this hot streak, Crosby has produced a ridiculous ten goals and 18 points. Crosby is as safe as they come in cash games tonight.
Nikita Kucherov, Tampa Bay Lightning, $7,200 - The Ottawa Senators have been a defensive disaster all season long and they are definitely the top team to pick on tonight. The Senators are a bottom five team in just about every single defensive category, and they lead the league in shots allowed and goals against per game. With his steady production and moderate price, Kucherov continues to be a staple in my cash game lineup.
Mats Zuccarello, New York Rangers, $6,000 – Playing on the New York Rangers’ top line and number one power-play unit, Zuccarello has generated three points and five shots on goal in his last two games. The 28-year-old Norwegian is one of the top bargains on the board tonight and he is in a great spot to produce.
Kris Letang, Pittsburgh Penguins, $6,900 – There is not a whole lot to love on the blue line tonight because of the short slate, but if I am paying up, I am going with Kris Letang. After a sub-par start to the 2015-16 season, Letang has turned things around big time, with six goals and 19 points in his last 13 games. Look for him to easily hit the score-sheet again tonight.
