__________

After a quiet Wednesday night of hockey, the NHL schedule explodes with 12 games this evening. The Nashville Predators, Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks are your big favorites tonight, and the Edmonton Oilers are the only team playing on consecutive nights.

GOALTENDERS

Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.

Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators, $8,900 - Rinne has not looked like himself in his last two starts, but I expect him to bounce back tonight and shut the door on this lackluster Maple Leafs offense. Toronto will generate enough shots to matter (averaging 30 shots per game) but they will have a difficult time scoring with their lack of finishers (ranked 27th in goals per game). Look for Rinne to make 25-plus saves and come away with the win tonight. I also think he is our best chance at a shutout this evening.

Other Goalies To Target (Cash Games) – Corey Crawford, Ben Bishop, Roberto Luongo
Other Goalies To Target (Tournaments) – Tuukka Rask, Braden Holtby, Jake Allen

CENTERS

Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars, $8,800 - When you think of a cash game stud, you want a consistent scorer who has huge upside. Seguin has points in 13 of his 16 games this season, including seven multi-point performances. He has also taken the second-most shots in the NHL this season (66), behind only Alexander Ovechkin. The Winnipeg Jets are not a team I am normally looking to target against, but they have lost three in a row, allowing 10 goals in the process. Seguin disappointed many of us Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but I expect him to bounce back tonight with a multi-point game.

David Krejci, Boston Bruins, $6,000 – Krejci is having a terrific season (7 G, 17 PTS, 37 SOG in 14 GP), scoring points in all but three of the Bruins games thus far. Krejci and linemate Loui Eriksson have really clicked together and both are in play tonight in daily fantasy. Reto Berra has played well recently, but I am not buying it. The Colorado Avalanche are a terrible defensive team and Berra is an average goalie at best. The Boston Bruins will control the possession game and that will lead to scoring chances and goals. Krejci should have another productive game versus the Avs this evening.

Other Centers to Target (Cash Games) – Tyler Johnson, Jeff Carter, Jonathan Toews, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Kyle Turris
Other Centers to Target (Tournaments) – John Tavares, Nathan MacKinnon, Claude Giroux, Nick Bjugstad, Bryan Little

WINGERS

Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning, $8,700 – Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning’s offense has certainly not looked like the juggernaut they were last season, but they should bust out of their funk in this game. The Calgary Flames have been atrocious defensively this season, allowing a league-high 3.88 goals per game. They are also taking too many penalties (over 10 PIM per game) and having trouble killing them off (27th-ranked penalty kill). Stamkos should snipe at least one goal in this game and he has “hat trick” upside.

Nikita Kucherov, Tampa Bay Lightning, $6,500 - I think it makes sense to have exposure to both of Tampa Bay’s top two lines tonight. Remember, everyone scores against the Calgary Flames. However, if you can’t afford Stammer, Kucherov makes a great consolation prize. Kucherov has points in five of his last six games and looks like he is starting to take off offensively.

Artemi Panarin, Chicago Blackhawks, $3,900 – The Chicago Blackhawks have lost three of their last five games, but scoring goals has not been the issue. In those five games, the Blackhawks have scored 20 goals, and Panarin continues to be a key factor. Panarin has 15 points in 15 contests this season and he is pretty much a “must play” in your cash games at this price.

Other Wingers to Target (Cash Games) – Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Alexander Ovechkin, James Neal, Mats Zuccarello, Loui Eriksson, Daniel Sedin, Tyler Toffoli

Other Wingers to Target (Tournaments) – Vladimir Tarasenko, Alexander Steen, Gabriel Landeskog, Jakub Voracek, Blake Wheeler

DEFENSEMEN

Shea Weber and Roman Josi ($6,300), Nashville Predators - At times it can be difficult to pinpoint where the scoring will come from with the Nashville Predators, even with their talented top line. What we do know is that the Predators have two of the best offensive blueliners in the game, and they should both hit the score-sheet tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Victor Hedman ($6,400) and  Anton Stralman ($4,500), Tampa Bay Lightning - The Lighting are looking to spark their explosive offense and I think they get it going tonight against the defensively challenged Flames and goalie Karri Ramo (3.60 GAA, .887 VS%). Look for both of these offensive defensemen to be heavily involved in the Bolts’ offensive attack tonight.

Other Defensemen to Target (Cash Games) – Brent Seabrook, Erik Karlsson, Torey Krug, John Klingberg, John Carlsson
Other Defensemen to Target (Tournaments) – Tyson Barrie, Kevin Shattenkirk, Mark Streit, Ryan Suter
