We have another great night of National Hockey League action lined up with eight games on tap. The Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings and Florida Panthers are tonight’s biggest favorites and the New York Rangers are the only team playing on consecutive nights.

GOALTENDERS

Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.

Matt Murray, Pittsburgh Penguins, $6,600 – Tonight we have a handful of decent goalie options for your cash game lineup, but I plan to go with the cheapest one of the bunch and put the savings into my offense. The Pittsburgh Penguins are a huge favorite tonight and they should cruise to a victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. Murray is a very talented young goalie and he has looked great in his rookie season (1.82 GAA, .934 SV%). Not only is the win a lock, but Murray also has shutout upside.

Other Goalies To Target (Cash Games) – Marc-Andre Fleury, Devan Dubnyk, Roberto Luongo, Martin Jones

Other Goalies To Target (Tournaments) – Petr Mrazek, Sergei Bobrovsky, Jonathan Bernier

CENTERS

Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins, $9,800 – Crosby is riding a nine-game point streak, with four of those games being of the multi-point variety. As a matter of fact, Crosby has been on fire since the beginning of January, racking up 20 goals and 43 points in 32 games. After a slow start to the season, number 87 has made up for lost time and he is now fifth overall in league scoring. The Carolina Hurricanes simply don’t have anyone to contain Crosby and I expect another big game from him tonight.

Other Centers to Target (Cash Games) – Steven Stamkos, Aleksander Barkov, Ryan Johansen, Joe Thornton, Jeff Carter

Other Centers to Target (Tournaments) – Brandon Dubinsky, Vincent Trocheck, Jason Spezza

WINGERS

Joe Pavelski, San Jose Sharks, $7,800 - The Arizona Coyotes are one of the top teams to pick on this evening. The Desert Dogs have been on a downward spiral since the All-Star break, losing 14 of their past 20 games. The Coyotes remain one of the worst possession teams in the game, which has resulted in them allowing the third-most goals against per game this season. Pavelski has multi-goal upside in this plus matchup.

Jonathan Huberdeau, Florida Panthers, $6,500 – Huberdeau has been electric of late, producing points in five straight games, including three multi-point efforts. The former third overall pick has really come into his own recently and he has shown great chemistry with his linemates. Huberdeau and the Florida Panthers’ top line have big potential tonight versus this weak Maple Leafs squad.

Nikita Kucherov, Tampa Bay Lightning, $6,300 – The Dallas Stars continue to have major issues on the back end, giving up 10 goals in their last two games alone. On the season, the Stars have given up the second-most high-danger scoring chances and they have allowed the fourth-most goals against per game. Bottom line, Dallas is a team we want to target. Kucherov has been the Tampa Bay Lightning’s most consistent scorer and he should only be more productive playing alongside Steven Stamkos on the Bolts’ top line.

Other Wingers to Target (Cash Games) – Patric Hornqvist, Jaromir Jagr, Filip Forsberg, James Neal, Tyler Toffoli

Other Wingers to Target (Tournaments) – Ondrej Palat, Craig Smith, Charlie Coyle, Reilly Smith, Justin Abdelkader, Dylan Larkin, Cam Atkinson, Valeri Nichushkin

DEFENSEMEN

Brent Burns, San Jose Sharks, $8,200 – Burns has produced five multi-point games in his last eight contests, totaling six goals and 13 points over that stretch. Tonight he faces an undisciplined (second-most minor penalties taken this year) Arizona Coyotes team that does not drive play well (fourth-worst Corsi rating). Burns has been an offensive monster for the San Jose Sharks this season and he should only pad his stats in the desert this evening.

Other Defensemen to Target (Cash Games) – Kris Letang, Shea Weber, Aaron Eklad, Ryan Suter

Other Defensemen to Target (Tournaments) – Mathew Dumba, Brian Campbell, Ryan Murray, Seth Jones, Dmitry Kulikov
