We kick off the month of December with ten games of NHL action. The Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens are the big favorites on the board, and the Colorado Avalanche and the Vancouver Canucks are the only teams playing on consecutive nights.
GOALTENDERS
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.
Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators, $8,700 – Rinne has not been at his best lately, but he is still a goalie we can trust on home ice (1.97 GAA, .928 SV%). The Nashville Predators are one of the NHL’s best defensive team and they should dominate an average Arizona Coyotes team from the get-go. Rinne is a lock for the win and our best chance at a shutout.
Other Goalies To Target (Cash Games) – Jake Allen, Corey Crawford, Jonathan Quick, Petr Mrazek
Other Goalies To Target (Tournaments) – Craig Anderson, Martin Jones, Cory Schneider, Antti Niemi
CENTERS
Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars, $8,800 –The Calgary Flames continue to struggle, losing three straight games and allowing 12 goals in the process. The Flames have been a mess all season defensively and Seguin should be in for another big night in this one. Fade him at your own risk.
Other Centers to Target (Cash Games) – Tomas Plekanec, Kyle Turris, Henrik Zetterberg, Paul Stastny, Adam Henrique
Other Centers to Target (Tournaments) – Claude Giroux, Nathan MacKinnon, Sean Monahan, Artem Anisimov, Alex Galchenyuk, Jack Eichel
WINGERS
Vladimir Tarasenko, St. Louis Blues, $8,200 - You simply can’t go wrong with Vladimir Tarasenko in your cash games. The Blues’ right winger is one of the best snipers in the game and is extremely consistent. Look for him to do more of what he has been doing all year: take plenty of shots and score goals.
Mike Hoffman, Ottawa Senators, $6,300 – Hoffman is on fire with three multi-point performances in his last four games. The Philadelphia Flyers have been a disaster in their own end this season and they have given up a ton of scoring chances against. Hoffman and the Senators offense are firing on all cylinders and they should continue to stay hot in this plus matchup on home ice.
Artemi Panarin, Chicago Blackhawks, $4,900 – I absolutely love Patrick Kane tonight and I think he easily extends his point streak to 20 games. Kane is a great play again tonight and his linemate Panarin gives us exposure to Kane at a huge discount. With 23 points in 24 games, Panarin is a steal at $4,900.
Other Wingers to Target (Cash Games) – Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, Alexander Steen, Michael Cammalleri, Bobby Ryan, Filip Forsberg
Other Wingers to Target (Tournaments) – Zach Parise, Gabriel Landeskog, Matt Duchene, Tyler Toffoli, Dylan Larkin, Johnny Gaudreau
DEFENSEMEN
John Klingberg, Dallas Stars, $6,400 – Klingberg was unreal in November, producing 16 points in 13 games. He continues to lead all defenseman in scoring and he is a big reason why the Dallas Stars lead the league in goals per game. Look for him to light it up with the man advantage tonight versus the Calgary Flames’ 30th-ranked penalty kill.
Other Defensemen to Target (Cash Games) – Erik Karlsson, P.K. Subban, Duncan Keith, Shea Weber, Kevin Shattenkirk
Other Defensemen to Target (Tournaments) – Tyson Barrie, Ryan Suter, Jake Muzzin, Mike Green, Rasmus Ristolainen, Shayne Gostisbehere
