Each day I will be providing my recommended player picks for your FanDuel daily fantasy hockey lineups.
My FanDuel NHL Plays will be broken down by player positions, and will include picks for cash games (50/50s/double-ups/head-to-head) and GPPs (guaranteed prize pool tournaments).

We have a very exciting 12-game slate on tap this evening. The St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames and Chicago Blackhawks are tonight’s biggest favorites, and we have four teams (Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks and the Florida Panthers) playing on consecutive nights.
Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.
Jonas Hiller, Calgary Flames, $7,000 – I am not in love with any goalie tonight, so I plan to get some salary relief at the position. Hiller has played really well in 2016, including his last start against the Vancouver Canucks where he stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced in a 4-1 victory. The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to fire plenty of rubber on net but lack scoring punch, making this a great matchup for the Flames netminder. Look for a win and 25-plus saves from Hiller tonight.
Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars, $7,600 – After a mini-slump, Seguin is back to being himself again, producing four goals, six points and 14 shots on net in his last four contests. The Minnesota Wild have hit rock bottom, losing five in a row (allowing 19 goals against in the process) and carrying a 1-8-1 record in their last ten games. Seguin is simply too good to pass on in your cash games at this price.
Artemi Panarin, Chicago Blackhawks, $6,400 – Panarin continues to flourish playing alongside superstar Patrick Kane at both even strength and on the Chicago Blackhawks’ number one power play unit. With five points and eight shots on goal in his last two games, the 24-year-old Russian is as hot as he has been all season long. At $6,400 why would you fade him in cash games?
Nikita Kucherov, Tampa Bay Lightning, $7,200 – Kucherov has eight goals and 16 points in his last 14 games and he continues to be the Tampa Bay Lightning’s biggest scoring threat. The Montreal Canadiens are not playing good hockey these days and their goaltending has been awful with Carey Price on the shelf. Kucherov is moderately priced and he is as safe as they come for your cash game lineup.
Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames, $8,500 – Gaurdeau has been an absolute stud on home ice this season (18 G, 36 PTS in 26 GP) and he is in a great spot tonight versus a weak Toronto Maple Leafs team. The Maple Leafs have lost five of their last seven games, including a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night. With the Maple Leafs playing hockey ugly these days, they are certainly a team we want to pick on this evening. Johnny Hockey has massive upside in this plus matchup at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Kevin Shattenkirk, St. Louis Blues, $5,300 – The Winnipeg Jets are not a bad hockey club but their undisciplined play has really hurt them this season. The Jets continue to lead the league in minor penalties taken and they have not had much success killing them off, as evident by their 28th-ranked penalty kill. Despite his mini-slump, Shattenkirk has multi-point upside on the power play alone tonight, and he is my top defenseman this evening.
