FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Research and Strategy Tools

It is a rather quiet Wednesday night in the NHL with only four games scheduled. Despite there being only eight teams in action, it looks like it will be a very high scoring and entertaining evening of hockey.

The Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins are the biggest favorites tonight, while the Toronto Maple Leafs are the only team playing on consecutive nights.

Editor's Note: Play one-day fantasy hockey tonight! Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a $25,000 league for Wednesday’s NHL games. It's just $2 to join and first place wins $2,000. Starts Wednesday at 7:30pm ET. Enter Now!

Make sure to check the RotoGrinders NHL Starting Goalies Page to confirm that the goalies listed below are starting prior to game time.

Marc-André Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins, $8,900 – Fleury has been excellent in goal for the Pittsburgh Penguins this season, posting a 2.26 GAA, .921 SV% and nine shutouts. The Philadelphia Flyers are playing lousy hockey right now, losing five of their past six games and are one of the league’s worst road teams (9-20-10). Despite all the man games lost due to injury, the Penguins have been a very strong team on home ice this season (23-12- 4) and I expect that to continue tonight versus the Flyers. Look for a strong performance from Fleury tonight and the all important win.

Other Goalies To Target (Cash Games) – Frederik Andersen, Alex Stalock

Other Goalies To Target (Tournaments) – Steve Mason, Jonathan Bernier, Anders Lindback

Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins, $9,900 – Due to his high salary I don’t recommend Sidney Crosby on too many nights, but tonight I am making an exception. Crosby has turned his offense up a notch with 17 points in his last 14 games, including five multi-point efforts. With his recent hot streak, Crosby now leads the league in scoring with 79 points. With the National Hockey League playoffs fast approaching, the Pittsburgh Penguins still have a lot to play for, and the Philadelphia Flyers’ season is virtually over. I expect another multi-point performance from Sid tonight against his arch nemesis.

Other Centers To Target (Cash Games) – Claude Giroux, Ryan Getzlaf, Logan Couture

Other Centers To Target (Tournaments) – Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Tyler Bozak, Ryan O’Reilly

Corey Perry, Anaheim Ducks, $9,200 – Despite their winning ways of late, the Edmonton Oilers are not a team that travels well (9-19-10) and they remain one of the league’s weakest defensive teams. The Anaheim Ducks have won three in a row and are a tough team to beat on home ice (25-10-3). Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf are a dynamic duo and I don’t see the Oilers being able to control them tonight. Perry is one of the NHL’s top snipers and he has hat trick upside tonight versus Edmonton.

Joe Pavelski, San Jose Sharks, $7,600 – Pavelski has been the Sharks’ best offensive player this season and he leads the club in both goals (36) and points (67). He has been a consistent point producer this season for San Jose and he is in a great spot tonight against the defensively challenged Colorado Avalanche. Not to mention the Avalanche are starting possibly the worst goaltender in hockey tonight in Reto Berra. Look for Pavelski to snipe at least one goal and unleash a few shots on net this evening.

Jordan Eberle, Edmonton Oilers, $5,800 – if you are looking for a contrarian play in your cash games or GPPs, look no further than Jordan Eberle. In the month of March, Eberle has racked up seven goals and 16 points in 13 games. Edmonton’s top line, featuring Benoit Pouliot, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle, has been one of the hottest lines in hockey the past month and they are all sneaky plays tonight on the Pond in Anaheim.

Matt Moulson, Buffalo Sabres, $5,800 - Moulson has points in three of his last four games and is the Sabres’ biggest offensive threat. Moulson has enjoyed playing the Maple Leafs this season, as he has tallied two goals, six points and a +5 rating in three games versus them this season. The Toronto Maple Leafs are a mess defensively and will be playing on consecutive nights. Moulson has multi-point upside and is a nice sleeper tonight.

Other Wingers To Target (Cash Games) – Patric Hornqvist, Jakub Voracek, Chris Kunitz, Patrick Marleau

Other Wingers To Target (Tournaments) – Jarome Iginla, Phil Kessel, Gabriel Landeskog

Derrick Pouliot, Pittsburgh Penguins, $3,400 – Pouliot has points in back-to-back games and will man the point on the Penguins’ top powerplay unit with both Kris Letang and Christian Ehrhoff out due to injury. The 20-year-old Pouliott is a highly skilled offensive defenseman and he has the ability to shine with more playing time. In order to afford studs like Sidney Crosby and Corey Perry, we need to find some value plays. Pouliot is easily the best bang for your buck on defense tonight in this plus matchup.

Other Defensemen To Target (Cash Games) – Brent Burns, James Wisniewski

Other Defensemen To Target (Tournaments) – Tyson Barrie, Justin Schultz
