NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Florida and Montreal will play the first games of their back-to-back situations, while Vegas, Washington and Los Angeles will skate for the second time in two nights.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Alex Ovechkin (WSH) - W - $8,800 (FanDuel), $8,100 (DraftKings)

Ovechkin will likely be the centerpiece of many lineups. The last time he faced Montreal, he scored four goals on eight shots. Ovechkin has been great against the Canadiens over his career with 27 goals and 48 points in 43 games.  He also has five goals and 12 points in the last eight contests.

Reilly Smith (VGK) - W - $5,700 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings)

Smith has amassed 17 points in the last 20 games, including three goals and three assists in seven appearances this month. His combination with William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault will probably be popular Friday night. The trio recorded one goal and five helpers between them in a 5-2 win over Florida back on Dec. 17. The Panthers could also be rusty following the team’s six-day break.

Rickard Rakell (ANA) - W - $6,800 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings)

Rakell has been skating alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry on the top line and he typically finds his way onto the scoresheet against Los Angeles. He has one goal and two helpers in two outings versus the Kings this year along with 13 points in 17 career appearances.

Paul Byron (MTL) - W - $3,900 (FanDuel), C - $4,200 (DraftKings)

If you are looking to save some cap space then Byron could be a decent addition to your lineup. He has been playing center alongside Max Pacioretty, who has finally heated up offensively lately. Byron has two goals and one assist in the past four games. He also picked up a helper versus Washington in Montreal’s 6-1 loss back on Oct. 7.

Evgenii Dadonov (FLA) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings)

Dadonov is back on Florida’s top line and he went into the break with two goals and three assists over a four-game point streak. He found the back of the net twice, with one coming on the power play, and he had eight shots versus Calgary. If he can carry that momentum with him then he will be a great value pick for Friday night’s slate. Dadonov contributed an assist and he had two shots in his last outing versus Vegas.

Jake Muzzin (LAK) - D - $4,500 (FanDuel), $4,500 (DrafKings)

Muzzin returned from a three-game absence on Thursday night. He didn’t miss that much action because of the Kings’ six-day break and made up for lost time with an assist and three shots against Pittsburgh. Muzzin has been a steady producer in daily fantasy this season, while chipping in points (24), blocks (80) and shots (93). He also has one helper and nine shots on target in two previous matches against Anaheim this campaign.

Probable Goaltenders:

Vegas (Malcolm Subban) Confirmed @ Florida (James Reimer) Confirmed

Montreal (Antti Niemi) Confirmed @ Washington (Philipp Grubauer) Confirmed

Los Angeles (Jonathan Quick) @ Anaheim (John Gibson)
