NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Philadelphia, Buffalo, Minnesota, Florida, Montreal, Washington and Arizona, will be playing the first games of their respective back-to-back situations.

Editor's Note: Rotoworld’s Season Pass is now available for the low price of $19.99. You get plenty of extra articles including the minor league report, the junior report and much, much more. Buy it now!

Sean Monahan (CGY) - C - $7,100 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings)

Monahan ended a five-game point skid on Wednesday with an assist against St. Louis. Prior to his scoring slump, he scored two goals in a 3-2 overtime win over Montreal. Monahan has enjoyed plenty of success versus the Canadiens in his career with six goals and 11 points in nine outings.

Nicklas Backstrom (WSH) - C - $6,600 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings)

Backstrom has registered two goals and one assist during a three-game point streak. He has amassed 16 points in his last 19 matches and should be in store for more production versus Arizona on Friday night. Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin will probably be a difficult duo for the Coyotes to hold in check.

Eric Staal (MIN) - C - $6,500 (FanDuel), $6,400 (DraftKings)

Staal recorded two goals and one assist in a game for the second time in six contests on Tuesday night. He has produced eight points during that six-game span and there’s a good chance he will add to that on Friday night. Staal accounted for three goals and one assist in two meetings against the Florida Panthers in 2016-17. Stacking him with Charlie Coyle and Nino Niederreiter could work out nicely.

Daniel Carr (MTL) - W - $3,400 (FanDuel), $3,400 (DraftKings)

Carr has only been held off the scoresheet two times in eight games as a member of the Canadiens. He has three goals and six helpers, which includes one goal on Dec. 7 against Calgary. Carr has also been logging time on Montreal’s power play and could continue to be a solid value pick on Friday night.

Ryan Suter (MIN) - D - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,200 (DraftKings)

Suter has generated six assists and 17 blocks in the past six games. Florida has averaged 34.29 shots per game (fifth overall), so the Wild defender should get in front of some more shots on Friday night. I also like John Carlson for this slate, but he is fairly pricey on DraftKings at $6,400. He is just $200 more than Suter on FanDuel.

Jeff Petry (MTL) - D - $4,000 (FanDuel), $4,000 (DraftKings)

Petry is another potential bargain pick from the Canadiens. He will log heavy minutes again on Friday night with Shea Weber out of the lineup due to a foot injury. Petry notched a power-play goal and an assist in Tuesday’s match against Vancouver. He also had one goal and three helpers in six contests that Weber missed in late November.

Probable Goaltenders:

Philadephia (Brian Elliott) Confirmed @ Buffalo (Robin Lehner) Confirmed

Minnesota (Alex Stalock) @ Florida (James Reimer) Confirmed

Montreal (Carey Price) Confirmed @ Calgary (Mike Smith) Confirmed

Washington (Philipp Grubauer) Confirmed @ Arizona (Scott Wedgewood) Confirmed
