The new game in town is called DRAFT (Draft.com) and the DFS game is something most poolies have grown up on, drafting a team, allowing each participant to take a player with each pick. Unlike the other DFS games, if for instance you draft Sidney Crosby in your pool, no one else can take him.
The draft is quick as you are allowed only 30 seconds per pick and you take five players, three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.
You can use some strategy. Let’s say there are five participants in your pool and you are picking last. If the first four take goaltenders, then pick your goalie in the final round as you are going to get him anyway.
Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.
Familiarize yourself with the rules and enjoy! It’s a great game! On Tuesday there are head-to-head drafts with a lot of three player drafts.
Editor’s Note: Compete in a live snake draft right now! Drafts take as little as 2 minutes to complete and last just one night. For a limited time, DRAFT is giving Rotoworld readers a FREE entry into a real money draft and a Money-Back Guarantee up to $100! Here's the link.
As you might have noticed by these rankings, I’m leaning towards Vegas versus Los Angeles Game 4 being another defensively dominated contest. If you’re feeling bold though, Kopitar is certainly an interesting choice tonight. With the threat of being swept at home present, Kopitar could have a big game and at least delay the Kings’ elimination for a bit. I think if you’re looking for offense tonight though, your better bet is the Capitals versus Blue Jackets. Both Panarin and Ovechkin could end up with big games.
Not a lot of appealing defensive options tonight, though Doughty is interesting for the same reason as Kopitar. Carlson seems like an easy choice to top this list given that he has six assists over two playoff games.
Given that I’m leaning towards the Capitals-Blue Jackets being an offensively heavy game while the Kings-Golden Knights being a more of a goaltending duel, it shouldn’t be surprising that Quick and Fleury are both in my top three.
Meanwhile, if you plan on playing FanDuel or DraftKings, here are some recommended picks:
Evgeny Kuznetsov C (Washington) - $7,600 FanDuel, $6,600 DraftKings
Mikko Koivu C (Minnesota) - $5,100 FanDuel, $4,000 DraftKings
Artemi Panarin W (Columbus) - $8,100 FanDuel, $7,400 DraftKings
Cam Atkinson W (Columbus) - $6,800 FanDuel, $6,400 DraftKings
Tyler Toffoli W (Los Angeles) - $5,400 FanDuel, $4,300 DraftKings
John Carlson D (Washington) - $6,400 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings
Toffoli's a gamble, but he has 14 SOG in three playoff games without a goal, so you could argue that he's due at this point. Given his low price, I'm willing to roll the dice on him.
