One of the best daily fantasy basketball minds out there, DraftCheat, gives out his top FanDuel picks at each position for Friday night.
Check them out below.
Brandon Knight, Milwaukee Bucks, $7300 - The leader of the Bucks has had a number of sol-id games in a row and gets a wonderful matchup vs. the hapless Timberwolves, who have the worst defensive efficiency in the league and may have to start Zach LaVine at the point tonight. Knight should have no trouble scoring and distributing and the price tag is far below the other top point guard options.
Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets, $5900 - Jack has been very solid whenever he’s started, and in game when Deron Williams is out. Both of those qualifiers apply tonight, and when you throw in an elite matchup vs. a 76ers team that surrenders the sixth-most fantasy points per minute to opposing point guards, you get a slam dunk pick at just $5900.
Editor's Note: Rotoworld's partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $200,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Friday's NBA games. It's $25 to join and first prize is $20,000. Starts at 7pm ET on Friday. Here's the FanDuel link.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks, $6200 - Most will be looking elsewhere after be-ing burned by the Greek Freak’s random benching during the second half of Wednesday’s game vs. the 76ers. He’s got another great matchup tonight and should be back to his usual 30+ minutes. He’s got 35+ fantasy point upside in a great matchup at home vs. the Wolves.
Joe Johnson, Brooklyn Nets, $6900 - Johnson has been playing a huge amount of minutes for the Nets and performs especially well with an increased usage rate when Deron Williams is out of the lineup. He should thrive against the 76ers, who have been getting scorched by shooting guards all year long.
Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder, $10,500 - The Thunder have played two poor games in a row but should bounce back nicely at home against the Jazz tonight. This price is simply too low for perhaps the best fantasy player on the planet, and we need to take advantage while we can as Durant will be well over $11,000 soon.
Robert Covington, Philadelphia 76ers, $5600 - Covington was awful last time out vs. the Bucks, shooting 1-9 from three-point land and generally having a poor game. But his minutes have remained consistent even when he struggles, and the matchup tonight is a good one against a Nets team that isn’t the best at defending the perimeter. Covington should get back on track here.
Kenneth Faried, Denver Nuggets, $6500 - Faried always carries significant risk, but in theory, he should be seeing a few more minutes with big man Timofey Mozgov out of town and JJ Hickson forced to back up center as well as power forward. It’s hard to predict when Faried will dominate a game, but when he does, you need him on your team to take down a GPP. It’s a nice matchup vs. the Kings tonight for the Nuggets’ forward, so this could be his night.
Trevor Booker, Utah Jazz, $4300 - Booker has been remarkably solid as a backup big for the Jazz with Enes Kanter out of the lineup. Assuming Kanter does indeed miss again (keep an eye on our news feed for updates), Booker should see 25+ minutes and meet value tonight against the Thunder.
Zaza Pachulia, Milwaukee Bucks, $5500 - Zaza has been as steady as they come with all the injuries to the Bucks’ big men. It’s a perfect matchup for him against a Timberwolves squad that can’t defend the rim at all. Zaza should be able to do work inside on his way to yet another solid game.
