Tourney Targets: Friday

Playing in FanDuel NBA tournaments tonight? DraftCheat dishes out some of his favorite tourney targets for a huge Friday slate.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder, $13200 - The Thunder players continue to go down injured, leaving only the great Russell Westbrook to carry the load. Enes Kanter will now miss this game, joining Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant on the sideline. Westbrook may see his highest usage yet and the Thunder need to win this game. His upside is enormous in this game, despite the tough matchup.

Goran Dragic, Miami Heat, $7000 - Dragic has found his groove with the Heat and he and Dwyane Wade are working very well together, pushing the pace and getting out in transition. Dragic is playing heavy minutes, logging 39+ in each of the last three games. Throw in a matchup at home against a tired Nuggets team and you have a recipe for success for the Dragon.

Shooting Guard

Dion Waiters, Oklahoma City Thunder, $4300 - The Thunder are without their second, third and fourth options offensively in Kevin Durant, Serge Ibaka, and Enes Kanter. Waiters should see plenty of minutes and get a few more shots. He’s always a scary player to roster, but the price is very reasonable and he’s capable of getting hot. The minutes and usage should be there, it’s just a matter of whether or not Dion can make his shots.

Tony Snell, Chicago Bulls, $4200 - The double shooting guard punt might be the way to go on FanDuel tonight. Snell has been playing huge minutes for the Bulls, averaging 40 per game over the last five contests. He should be matched up with DeMar DeRozan tonight and should see plenty of court time once again. An unexciting option, but one that should reach value at a tough position.

Small Forward

Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs, $8200 - The Spurs’ small forward has a lot going for him in the GPP format tonight. The matchup is prime vs. Evan Turner and the Celtics, and after a couple of off games from Kawhi most users will look elsewhere. However, Leonard has been phenomenal in the second half of the season and should get back on track tonight in a fast paced game. Hop on board while the ownership is low.

Nicolas Batum, Portland Trail Blazers, $6900 - Batum is thriving for the Blazers lately, particularly after Wesley Matthews was lost for the season. The defense of the Magic should be ripped apart by the Blazers offense and Batum will see his usual 35+ minutes of action in a good matchup.

Power Forward

LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland Trail Blazers, $9600 - Aldridge is on a roll and the Magic simply have nobody that will be able to slow him down. This is a dream matchup for Aldridge and the Blazers should look to him in the post early and often. The Blazers’ defense has also been very poor after losing Matthews and this game should be closely contested throughout. That’s a recipe for heavy minutes and a big game from the Blazers’ star.

Mitch McGary, Oklahoma City Thunder, $3500 - The Thunder are down to three big men in Adams, McGary, and Collison. All three should see enough minutes to meet value and McGary has proven that he can have a big impact when he gets time on the court.

Center

Steven Adams, Oklahoma City Thunder, $5100 - Yes, this column is very heavy on the Thunder, but with so many offensive stars out injured, there are going to be plenty of shots, rebounds, and assists to go around from very cheap sources. Adams should play nearly 40 minutes tonight and he’s playing at a high level at the moment. The matchup is worrisome, but the price and upside are certainly appealing.
