CASH GAME STACKS
Los Angeles Dodgers (vs. Oakland A’s - SP Jesus Luzardo)
Today is a weird slate for cash lineups. The Dodgers are the only clear cash play that I saw. I see the potential for Chicago and Kansas City for leverage/GPP plays but you can’t really call them cash plays as the Royals are underdogs andthe Cubs are at -110. The Dodgers will continue to be a popular daily fantasy investment until they slow down or match up against an elite ace. They have started the season with a league-leading, .328 team batting average. They currently rank 3rd in the majors with 38 RBI. Today, they face off against SP Jesus Luzardo as well as an overworked Oakland A’s bullpen. The A’s have started the season losing their first six games. The Dodgers are currently favored at -180 with an 8.0 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com. Luzardo pitched very poorly in his first outing against the Houston Astros. He allowed five earned runs off of eight hits over 5.0 IP. He allowed six of eight total hits and the only two home runs in the game to opposing right-handed batters. Justin Turner is my top Cash play of the day. I expect him to be highly rostered in daily fantasy but also a viable target for some prop bet goodness. I like Turner for hits, runs, RBI, and more today in the perfect matchup for the red-hot, top off the order, third baseman.
Other possible Cash Stack(s): Atlanta Braves (vs. Washington Nationals - SP Stephen Strasburg)
Chicago Cubs (vs. Milwaukee Brewers - SP Brandon Woodruff)
Woodruff should be a popular play today considering his stellar BvP stats against the Chicago Cubs. BvP stands for Batter vs. Pitcher. Throughout his career, Woodruff is allowing a mere .189 batting average over 74 at-bats to the Cubs. He is also in the perfect bounce-back spot as he underperformed in his first start against the Minnesota Twins. Today, he has a more favorable matchup against a Cubs team that is ranked last in the league with a .132 team batting average. So, why do I like the Cubs? Sometimes, leverage is the best GPP play. The best part about daily fantasy sports is that you can (and should) invest in both sides of a game. Will I have shares of Woodruff? Yes. Will I also invest in lineups containing Cubs players? Of course, I will. Limit your risk and invest in shares of multiple narratives. Either Brandon Woodruff or Chicago Cub sluggers should be a part of the optimal lineup for today.
Kansas City Royals (vs. Cleveland Indians - SP Shane Bieber)
Shane Bieber is a top-notch ace. His first outing of the season was sub-par. He allowed three earned runs over five innings pitched to an average Detroit Tigers team. He should get back on track today except the Royals are really good. Whit Merrifield and a handful of other Royals are extremely talented. Their talents are not just limited to home-run power. They have solid contact batters as well as players who have stolen base potential. This team has a little bit of everything. Can they be the second team to beat up on a talented pitcher in Bieber? Yes, I think they can. Most of the DFS community will/should stay away from investing in the Royals due to the fact that this is a larger slate and Kansas City salaries are quite high. The Royals are currently underdogs at +165 with an 8.0 O/U Courtesy of Pointsbet.com.
Other possible GPP Stack(s): Texas Rangers (vs. Toronto Blue Jays - SP Hyun Jin Ryu)
