Lucas Giolito - Chicago White Sox (vs. Milwaukee Brewers) - DK: $9,100 FD: $9,400 Yahoo: $46
I actually like the over priced Chicago starter who has yet to show us consistency - One horrible season opener against the Twins and one stellar outing to follow against the Indians. Who do we get tonight? We get massive strikeout potential from Giolito. Giolito is dominant against right-handed batters. Milwaukee has struck out 53 times against right-handed pitchers this season in 166 at-bats. The Brewers lefties are starting the season a little slow. Yelich, Sogard, Narvaez and Smoak have been struggling. If you want to fade Giolito, these aforementioned lefties are who you want to invest in. The Chicago White Sox are slight underdogs with an 8 under/over - lowest on the slate! Have both sides of this one for GPP purposes.
Other Pitching Options: Kyle Hendricks - Chicago Cubs (vs. Kansas City) - DK: $7,700 FD: $8,300 Yahoo: $42
Tyler Heineman - San Francisco Giants (@ Col) - DK: $4,800 FD: $3,000 Yahoo: $13
I love the San Francisco Giants tonight! I like to check the Rotoworld Player Projection every morning when I wake up. I do this for many reasons. Mainly, I like to see if the players that I had initial interest in the night before match up with the top Rotoworld projections. I loved the Giants catcher last night (for tonight’s slate). Seeing him in the top three of Rotoworld's player projections at 14.3 points on FanDuel was reassuring. It was very reassuring when I saw that he was ranked 1st on DraftKings and Yahoo with projections of 11.3 DK points and 9.3 Yahoo points. Is he a pivot? I think he COULD be rostered in a small percentage of lineups tonight, like the rest of the Giants. San Francisco has a team .407 batting average in 81 at-bats against Colorado’s German Marquez. Of those 81 at- bats, the Giants totaled five home runs from four different players. So Lou, why would they be low owned? Well, BvP stats are sometimes looked down upon in the DFS community. If you invest in San Francisco tonight, you will be doing so because of the impressive BvP stats. I’m not saying they will be rostered at sub 10 %, I’m just saying they will go lower rostered than they deserve to be. I see San Francisco scoring 7 + runs tonight using the long ball and Vegas seems to agree as the over is at 11.5 and growing favoring the Rockies by -180.
Other Catcher Options: Chadwick Trop - San Francisco Giants - (@ Col) - DK: 3,300 FD: $2,800 Yahoo: $10
Pete Alonso -New York Mets (@ Washington Nationals) - DK: $4,700 FD: $3,300 Yahoo: $15
In 2019, right-handed batters hit 22 home runs against Corbin over 609 at bats. Washington Nationals Park is a stadium where the ball can fly. In 2019, Nationals Park was ranked 2nd in the MLB allowing 1.267 home runs per game. The Mets have gotten to Corbin and can do so tonight as slight underdogs with a 9.0 under/over, moving downward towards 8.5 runs. If the Mets win this game it will be off the long ball from their right-handed batters.
Other First Basemen: Freddie Freeman (vs. Toronto Blue Jays) - DK: $5,100 FD: $3,700 Yahoo: $22
Donovan Solano - San Francisco (@ Colorado Rockies) - DK: $4,900 FD: $3,200 Yahoo: $15
As I mentioned above, “I love the San Francisco Giants tonight... San Francisco has a team .407 batting average in 81 at-bats against Colorado’s German Marquez. Of those 81 at- bats, the Giants totaled five home runs from four different players.” Load up on San Francisco bat tonight, you will not regret it!
Other Second Basemen: Wilmer Flores (vs. Colorado Rockies) - DK: $4,800 FD: $3,000 Yahoo: $16
If you are multi-entering or simply looking for the right “one-off” to complete your lineup, make sure that you’re using the RotoWorld Optimizer. Work smart, not hard!
Amed Rosario - New York Mets (@ Washington Nationals) - DK: $4,400 FD: $2,500 Yahoo: $12
The Mets will win this game! How? On the bats of their right-handed batters. Rosario did leave the game last night but I do believe he’s set to go tonight. Corbin should be the chalk pitcher. Pivoting tonight is easy. Invest in the New York Mets’ right-handed batters, this is their path to victory. Rosario batted .311 last season with six home runs in 148 at-bats against left-handed pitching.
Other Shortstop Options: Trevor Story (vs. SF) - DK: $5,700 FD: $4,200 Yahoo: $18
Yoan Moncada - Chicago White Sox (vs. Milwaukee Brewers) - DK: $4,500 FD: $3,400 Yahoo: $20
Moncada is red-hot - six hits in his last three games, logging: 24.0, 4.0 and 16.0 over his past three. Ride the wave! He faces Brandon Woodruff. While Woodruff is a solid pitcher, Moncada will get the better of him today. Pricey but for good reason.
Other Third Base Option: Nolan Arenado (vs. SF) - DK: $5,300 FD: $3,800 Yahoo: $20
Michael Conforto - New York Mets - (@ Washington Nationals) - DK: $4,300 FD: $2,800 Yahoo: $14
Most will invest in Corbin, but Conforto and the Mets will be the ones coming out on top here. Conforto has a .368 batting average with four home runs in 19 at-bats. Tonight, the Mets are underdogs at +125 with a 9 run under/over. The Mets are great pivot plays tonight.
Other Outfield Option: J.D. Davis (@ Washington Nationals) - DK: $3,800 FD: $2,800 Yahoo: $13
