Happy Saturday to all. Man, do I love Daily Fantasy Saturday’s! With the NBA, MLB, PGA and UFC all running, how could it get any better? Take a look below for my NBA DFS top plays along with some Bargain Bin/Pivot plays to top it off.
Malcolm Brogdon - Indiana Pacers - (vs. Los Angeles Lakers) - DK: $6,900 FD: $6,600 Yahoo: $27
The Pacers’ starting guard is officially rosterable. Now that Brogdon has three, 30 minute games under his belt, we can trust him for real production. Over his first three games, Brogdon has averaged 33.09 FanDuel points. This average is off of two, 40 point efforts and one, 28.8 fantasy point game. Today, he faces the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have allowed 52.5 FanDuel points to opposing point guards over the last week. This stat ranks them second highest on the slate. Conversely, the Lakers have allowed minimal points to opposing shooting guards over the same, one week span - 39.7 to be exact. I like to invest in these scenarios where the point and shooting guards have vastly different matchups (in terms of who they’ll be guarded by on the defensive end). Brogdon has a big game in him and tonight could be the night that he goes for that 50 point effort. The Lakers are clearly having trouble maintaining the point guard position with all of their lineup uncertainties as of late. It’s the perfect time to invest in Malcolm Brogdon. The Lakers are favored by 5.5 points at the moment (10:00 am EST).
Other options: Mike Conley - Utah Jazz - (vs. Denver Nuggets) - DK: $5,900 FD: $6,900 Yahoo: $21
C.J. McCollum - Portland Trail Blazers (vs. L.A Clippers) - DK: $7,800 FD: $7,300 Yahoo: $ 35
The Clippers are allowing massive points to opposing shooting guards. Paul George will have to carry the entire team with Lou Williams, Monztrel Harrell and now Kawhi Leonard out for today's matchup. This should result in continued, poor DVP numbers (Defense vs. Position). The Clippers are actually amongst the league’s best in defending all other positions. This is an easy one! McCollum has seen the Clippers twice this season. Over these two games he’s averaged 21 PPG, five rebounds and three assists over 34.5 minutes per outing. The Trail Blazers are now -4 with a 231.5 under/over (11:37 am EST). Portland will win big but C.J. McCollum will get his along the way - lock it in.
Other option: Duncan Robinson - Miami Heat (vs. Phoenix Suns) - DK: $4,800 FD: $4,100 Yahoo: $14
UPDATED WITH KAWHI OUT
Carmelo Anthony - Portland Trail Blazers - (vs. Los Angeles Clippers) DK: $5,500 FD: $4,900 Yahoo: $19
With Kawhi out tonight, Carmelo Anthony makes for a solid play. His defense has stepped up and he will be matching up against Landry Shamet which is no match at all. Carmelo is averaging 27.05 FanDuel PPG. Most will be on Paul George, I think George has pivot written all over him today. Without Kawhi, Portland takes this one with somewhat ease. George will be on the bench by the 4th is my call. The spread is now -4 with a 231.5 under/over (11:37 am EST) which is surprising. Portland has the talent here and should get the W.
Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Dallas Mavericks) - DK: $7,700 FD: $7,100 Yahoo: $30
Paul Milsap - Denver Nuggets (vs. Utah Jazz) DK: $5,300 FD: $4,800 Yahoo: $17
The Utah Jazz allow 47.4 FanDuel points to opposing power forwards. Ingles is a solid defender for opposing small forwards and Mitchell/Conley hold down opposing guards very well. This allows for a weak point. Paul Milsap sees this matchup today after sitting (rest) in Denver’s last game on Thursday. Denver’s veteran forward has a high ceiling today in a game that favors Denver by just one point. Investing in Denver’s back up PF is viable if Milsap doesn’t perform. We will discuss Jerami Grant in the Bargain Bin!
Other option: Kristaps Porzingis - Dallas Mavericks (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) - DK: $8,400 FD: $8,800 Yahoo: $39

Anthony Davis - Los Angeles Lakers (vs. Indiana Pacers) DK: $10,300 FD: $9,400 Yahoo: $48
The Pacers are allowing a slate high 66.7 FanDuel fantasy points to all opposing centers. That’s way too high! Myles Turner has never been considered a good defender, so, this doesn’t surprise me but damn, that’s too many fantasy points allowed! The question now becomes, which big man do we invest in? McGee, Howard or Davis? Considering Howard is probable with a knee and McGee lacks the minutes when Dwight plays, let’s move these two, to the Bargain Bin. I love the matchup for these big men but we’re looking for upside paired with a safe floor and that’s what AD has today - upside with a high floor.
Other option: Nikola Jokic - Denver Nuggets (vs. Utah Jazz) - DK: $9,200 FD: 9,000 Yahoo: $44
JaVale McGee - Los Angeles Lakers - (vs. Indiana Pacers) DK: $3,200 FD: $3,800 Yahoo: $10
As I mentioned above, “The Pacers are allowing a slate high 66.7 FanDuel fantasy points to all opposing centers.” McGee actually had 10 PPG, eight rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 22 minutes in his only game against the Pacers this season. I think he starts the game on fire, the only problem is that he tends to die out towards the second half and Dwight is back. If for some reason they finally allow McGee ample minutes, he will perform in this one. It’s just his minutes that always worries me.
Jerami Grant - Denver Nuggets - (vs. Utah Jazz) DK: $4,700 FD: $4,700 Yahoo: $17
If Milsap doesn't get the better of this matchup, Grant will! Denver’s backup forward averages 21.3 DraftKings PPG while coming off the bench (most of the time). Over four games in the 2018 -2019 season (last season) Grant averaged, 14.5 PPG with five rebounds averaging 36.3 minutes per game. That’s a lot of minutes for a bench player (at the time).
Paul George - Los Angeles Clippers (vs. Portland Trail Blazers) - DK: $8,000 FD: $7,700 Yahoo: $36
Hard fade for me today. I’m on the C.J. McCollum train. Without Kawhi, I see blowout written all over this one. George could potentially be sitting for the entire 4th quarter. George has averaged 42.4 Draftkings points per game over the last 10 days. That’s solid consistency! With that said, I think today is the day that consistency ends. Both Reggie Jackson and Landry Shamet are expected to be in the starting lineup today.
