Point Guard

Kendrick Nunn - Miami Heat - (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) - DK: $4,100 FD: $4,500 Yahoo: $12

Are we going to invest in five Heat players for one lineup? Probably not, but it’s still important to mention all of the Miami Heat players who are in advantageous positions today. Throughout this article you’ll notice a theme - theme being, the Miami Heat. The five Heat players that interest me include: Tyler Herro, Jae Crowder. Bam Adebayo, Kelly Olynyk and obviously Nunn. Without Dragic, Nunn sees a massive usage uptick. If you want to see how a player’s absence affects the rest of the teams’ usage, use the RotoWorld Next Man Up Tool. The Heat need a point guard to feed; Crowder, Bam, Herro, Olynyk and Duncan Robinson for that matter. Robinson comes in as my least favorite Miami starter but still carries a solid floor. The Heat are nine point underdogs but carry massive upside! Even the +330 money line intrigues me. Go Miami!

Other options: Austin Rivers - Houston Rockets - (vs. LA Lakers) - DK: $5,100 FD: $4,600 Yahoo: $21

Shooting Guard

Devin Booker - Phoenix Suns (vs. Indiana Pacers) - DK: $8,300 FD: $8,000 $ Yahoo: $37

To be clear, I wanted to write up Herro here but using five paragraphs for Heat write ups seemed excessive. You guys get it, I like the Heat players today. So, why Booker? Booker hit a nice ceiling in his last game (54.0 DK, 49.8 FD, 49.8 Yahoo). Indiana are without Sabonis, Lamb and possibly Brogdon (questionable). Booker should be able to score at will. The under/over for this game is at 228.5 with a two point spread favoring the Pacers. Booker is averaging 42.6 fantasy points per game. In this matchup, Booker will exceed his averages. The Phoenix Suns star shooting guard could see some Oladipo defense today but at this point that doesn’t worry me. Booker is a lock for me as a safe, cash game play.

Other option: Tyler Herro - Miami Heat (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) - DK: $3,600 FD: $3,900 Yahoo: $12 **Top Value**

Small Forward

Jae Crowder - Miami Heat (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) - DK: $4,400 FD: $4,900 Yahoo: $12

With Butler and Dragic, who steps up? The under/over is still high (relatively) at 221.5 and the Bucks are favored by nine points. Remember, the Bucks lost to the Nets in their last outing. The Bucks are 100% healthy for the first time since the restart. If anything, one thing is clear from this matchup, the Heat need Crowder to play a lot and well. Crowder should be defending Middleton but I can also see him helping maintain Giannis in double teams, etc. Crowder will see 30 + minutes and he has the favorable matchup(s). In the 2019-2020 season, Crowder averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists over 31.5 minutes (two game sample size). These are big numbers for Crowder. Now, take into account the usage shifts with Butler and Dragic out today, we might have ourselves a gold mine.

Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Miami Heat) - DK: $7,600 FD: $6,500 Yahoo: $32

Power Forward

Bam Adebayo - Miami Heat (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) DK: $7,700 FD: $7,800 Yahoo: $35

Butler and Dragic are confirmed out tonight. Milwaukee just came off of a loss to the Nets and did not look good without Giannis on the floor. I actually like the talent Miami has out there today. Tyler Herro, Kelly Olynyk, Bam Adebayo, Kendrick Nunn and Jae Crowder all must be considered today. With that value, the rest of your lineup will be very flexible. Do you play all four/five in the same lineup? Yes, you can. If Miami keeps this game close, all five should eat!

Other option: Kristaps Porzingis - Dallas Mavericks (vs. L.A. Clippers) - DK: $5,200 FD: $5,900 Yahoo: $21 **Top cash play**

Center

Kelly Olynyk - Miami Heat (vs. Milwaukee Bucks) DK: $4,800 FD: $5,000 Yahoo: $15

Oylynk has been red-hot going back to this summers’ pre-season exhibition games. Whether or not he starts, Olynyk has huge potential today. Considering his dual position designation and lower salary on DraftKings, Olynyk is a much better investment on DraftKings than FanDuel or Yahoo. DraftKings also has a three-point bonus which will benefit Olynyk. With that said, you can still roster both Bam and Olynyk on FanDuel because Bam is designated as a Power Forward. I see this being a popular play. Investing in the Miami Heat is a must - it’s just a matter of how many.

Other option: Deandre Ayton - Phoenix Suns (vs. Indiana Pacers) - DK: $7,200 FD: $7,500 Yahoo: $35

Pivots

James Harden - Houston Rockets - (vs. LA Lakers ) DK: $10,700 FD: $10,600 Yahoo: $54

Okay, I get it. Westbrook is unlikely to play so plug in Harden, right? Wrong! The whole field will be doing this. Let’s be different. Besides, Harden is matching up against solid defenders in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Danny Green. Harden will have a tough time tonight (with or without Westbrook). I see the Rockets losing to the Lakers in Houston tonight. The Lakers are favored by one point with a 227.5 under/over. Don’t jump on Harden just yet, this could be a huge fade tonight as Harden should be rostered in the majority of GPP and cash lineups. KCP is a viable GPP play as he will be guarding Harden.
