NBA DFS Plays: Sunday 12/30

by Spencer Limbach

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

Keep in mind that we are looking towards the main slate at 6:00 ET with five games.

POINT GUARD

Tyus Jones – Minnesota (at Miami)

Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague are both doubtful tonight, which promotes Jones into a substantial role as the full-time point guard. The matchup at Miami doesn’t look great on paper (4th vs PGs), but Jones should easily pay off his economical salary with an influx of starter minutes and more usage as well. Go ahead and safely target him through all formats on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Also Consider: Lonzo Ball, De’Aaron Fox

SHOOTING GUARD

Josh Hart – LA Lakers (vs Sacramento)

Hart is one of the easiest value picks of this slate. He’ll continue to start with LeBron James sideline, a role he has savored while averaging 31 fantasy points and 33 minutes over his last two. He posted 30 FP in 32 minutes on Thursday against the same Sacramento team he’ll see tonight. The Kings play fast and rank 29th in defensive efficiency vs opposing shooting guards. Hart’s salary is much better on FanDuel ($3700), but he’s still too cheap on DraftKings ($4700) as well.

Also Consider: Andrew Wiggins, Buddy Hield

SMALL FORWARD

Justise Winslow – Miami (vs Minnesota)

Winslow has been up and down all season, but he’s certainly trending upward as of late. The Miami forward has posted 47+ fantasy points in two of his past three games, and he’ll continue to see opportunities with Goran Dragic out. Tonight’s matchup vs Minnesota provides an excellent opportunity to keep thriving. The Timberwolves rank 27th in defensive efficiency against the small forward position, which could inspire Winslow to another well-rounded performance.

Also Consider: Kawhi Leonard, Robert Covington

POWER FORWARD

Kyle Kuzma – LA Lakers (vs Sacramento)

You’ll definitely want exposure to this Lakers-Kings matchup with the highest over/under of the day at 232 total points. Both teams rank in the top three for pace and below average in team defensive efficiency, so there should be plenty of scoring. Kuzma flourished against the Kings on Thursday with 44 fantasy points in 40 minutes. There’s a chance he could replicate that stat-line while serving as one of the top offensive options with LeBron James still out.

Also Consider: Serge Ibaka, Wendell Carter Jr./p>

CENTER

Willie Cauley-Stein – Sacramento (at LA Lakers)

Most of the tonight’s centers are either overpriced or looking at less-than-ideal matchups. That has me leaning towards Cauley-Stein with a moderate salary and strong draw. He’ll be a part of the highest over/under of the night, facing a Lakers team that ranks third in pace and 24th in defensive efficiency against opposing centers. Cauley-Stein posted 38 fantasy points in 34 minutes vs LAL on Thursday, and that’s a realistic expectation this evening.

Also Consider: Jusuf Nurkic, Mike Muscala (if Embiid out)
