NBA GPP Pivots: Monday 1/18

Point Guard

Jrue Holiday - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Brooklyn Nets)

Holiday will draw James Harden for most of tonight’s matchup. We all know that Harden can score. The real question is, can Harden defend while keeping up his high offensive usage rate? Does Brooklyn prioritize defense or just count on scoring 120+ per game? This remains to be seen. Regardless, the Holiday/Harden combo could be huge tonight. If this game remains close, we could be looking at a 120+ fantasy point effort out of these two superstars. In Harden’s first game with the Nets, he had a 32 point triple-double. Expect much of the same tonight. The Nets are + 3.5 point underdogs with a 239.5 O/U.

Other PG Option: Ja Morant - Memphis Grizzlies (vs. Phoenix Suns)

PointsBet.com has a super-boost worth mentioning. The line for James Harden to score 30+ points tonight has been boosted from +120 to +150. One of my top bets of the Night.

Shooting Guard

Victor Oladipo - Houston Rockets (vs. Chicago Bulls)

Oladipo has his first start tonight with his new team, the Houston Rockets. Look for Oladipo to make a splash in his debut. The Rockets are favored by -2 points with a 226 O/U. Oladipo should run the point with John Wall OUT for Monday night’s matchup. He’ll have weapons in Christian Wood and DeMarcus Cousins. Chicago has allowed 120.0 PPG this season (third highest in the league). Houston and Oladipo will have to build chemistry but I expect the veteran guard to perform just fine tonight.

Other SG Option: Zach LaVine - Chicago Bulls (vs. Houston Rockets)

Small Forward

Kevin Durant - Brooklyn Nets (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

The Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets matchup should be your go-to matchup on this slate for fantasy goodness. Harden and Holiday might be my top combo play on the slate. There are value plays in Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan, and Jeff Green. I expect this game to be a close one, worth investing in both sides. Jeff Green and Khris Middleton should be a solid pairing with Green expected to defend Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Nets are + 3.5 point underdogs with a 239.5 O/U.

Other SF Option: Joe Harris - Brooklyn Nets (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

Power Forward

Brandon Clarke - Memphis Grizzlies (vs. Phoenix Suns)

Valanciunas will be sidelined tonight. Clarke and Tillman will see a minutes/usage uptick. The Grizzlies are + 5 point underdogs with a 218.5 O/U. Ja Morant has returned and Brooks/Anderson are completely healthy. Don’t count out the Grizzlies today at 5:00 pm EST. I actually like Memphis to win this one in a big way. The money line is at + 170 on PointsBet.com. This is my favorite line of the day. Memphis will still succeed in this one, even without the big man. Memphis Grizzlies lock 'em in!

Other PF Option: Jeff Green - Brooklyn Nets (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

Christian Wood - Houston Rockets (vs. Chicago Bulls)

The Rockets will be limited tonight. Chrisitan Wood paired with Victor Oladipo is another solid GPP pairing today. Oladipo is going to want to impress without being a ball-hog. His chemistry with Wood is beyond important for Houston’s overall success. John Wall will be OUT tonight and Cousins is expected to come off the bench. Houston has the firepower to stay competitive with Chicago, even with John Wall sidelined.

Other C Option: DeAndre Jordan - Brooklyn Nets (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)
