Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Although today is primarily about football, there's still an awesome daily fantasy NBA slate starting at 1:00 PM EST. Check out my top NBA plays below and make sure to sign up for EDGE+ - Wager with confidence!

Point Guard

Kemba Walker - Boston Celtics (vs. Phoenix Suns)

With Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart out for tonight’s matchup with the Phoenix Suns, everyone will be all over Jayson Tatum. The Rotoworld Optimizer has him projected for 16.3 points on FanDuel as well as fairly similar projections on Draftkings and YahooFantasy. Kemba has a massive upside. Tatum will need help taking down the Suns tonight - he can’t do it on his own. Kemba has massive usage projections and is starting to get back into the swing of things. His matchup is perfect against the aging Chris Paul. The Celtics are +3 point underdogs with a 217.5 O/U. If you fade Walker, you must play Pritchard. One of Boston’s guards WILL perform tonight, there are only so many that are active today. Kemba and Tatum should be locked into your daily fantasy lineups at the very least.

Other PG Option: Payton Pritchard - Boston Celtics (vs. Phoenix Suns)

Shooting Guard

Devin Booker - Phoenix Suns (vs. Boston Celtics)

By rostering Boston players you’re hoping the game stays close. Close games equal higher fantasy point totals. Booker will be matching up against Jayson Tatum most likely (and even if he’s not, even better). Booker has been underperforming so far this season. Not so much because he’s struggling, but the current offense doesn’t allow him as much isolation as he used to back in 2018-2019. He’s averaging 30.6 DK PPG over his last four games. Here’s the thing, his salary is appropriate and he still carries an upside. Boston should be disorganized defensively with two of their most solid defenders, Brown and Smart, sidelined for this one. The Suns are favored by - 3 with a 217.5 O/U.

Other SG Option: Terry Rozier - Charlotte Hornets (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)

Small Forward

Jayson Tatum - Boston Celtics (vs. Phoenix Suns)

This is the chalk of the day. Can we fade him? No, we cannot. Lock in Tatum and move on. As long as this game stays close, the 22-year-old product of Duke University will produce (DFS wise). His matchups are nothing to worry about. Devin Booker and/or Mikal Bridges are obviously no match for Tatum.

Other SF Options: Gordon Hayward - Charlotte Hornets (vs. Portland Trail Blazers)

Power Forward

Royce O’Neale - Utah Jazz (vs. Indiana Pacers)

This is my GPP play of the day. Yesterday was rough with my Buddy Hield call but the opportunities were there. He shot 1 for 11 and played 39 minutes. Today, we move onto Royce O’Neale. O’Neale has an interesting matchup. I don’t believe he sees too much of Indiana’s power forward, Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis is too large for O’Neale to maintain. It really makes more sense to have O’Neale on the opposing SF Justin Holiday or even SG Jeremy Lamb. If this becomes the case, Sabonis will be held down by Rudy Gobert. Myles Turner could have a field day in this scenario as Bogdoovic will be asked to hold down players who are significantly bigger than him. Long story short, I don’t think Utah has the size in their starting lineup to sufficiently maintain the Indiana Pacers. At low salaries on Draftkings, FanDuel, and YahooFantasy, Royce O’Neale becomes a very interesting investment today.

Other PF Option: Frank Kaminsky - Phoenix Suns (vs. Boston Celtics)

Center

Tristan Thompson - Boston Celtics (vs. Phoenix Suns)

As mentioned above (in my Kemba write-up), Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are OUT for tonight’s matchup with the Phoenix Suns. Boston will need their most talented players/scorers to show up for this one. Ayton’s defense has actually been much better this season. Thompson is a top-notch defender and sees a massive usage uptick tonight although Theis is playing. The confidence that I have in Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker is higher than my confidence in Thompson because the absent players that created today’s usage shifts are shooting guards (Brown and Smart), not big men. There’s value all over this game. Nailing down this game correctly is the key to today’s DFS slate.

Other C Option: Cody Zeller - Charlotte Hornets (vs. Washington Wizards)

Bargain Bin

PG Kemba Walker

SG Malik Monk

SF Royce O’Neale

PF Frank Kaminsky

C Cody Zeller
