NFL DFS Single Games: Week 7

Single-Game contests have emerged as popular NFL DFS formats this season. Essentially, you are picking five fantasy players from one game with one designated player getting a 1.5x multiplier on his overall fantasy points. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend dipping your toe in the proverbial water. It’s a great way to make these Primetime matchups even more entertaining.

For this article, we will focus on FanDuel’s Single Game Contests with strategy and advice in the corresponding write-ups. The goal is offer cash game solutions and potential tournament pivots/sleepers for each format.

The following games will be covered:

Thursday Night Football – Denver @ Arizona

Sunday Night Football – Cincinnati @ Kansas City

Monday Night Football – NY Giants @ Atlanta

Here’s what I came up with as a cash game lineup. Take note that this is based on my personal preference by using the reasoning listed below.

MVP – David Johnson ($15000)

FLEX – Case Keenum ($15000)

FLEX – Christian Kirk ($11000)

FLEX – Brandon McManus ($9500)

FLEX – Phil Dawson ($9500)

This is David Johnson’s best matchup of the season, facing a Denver defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. For that reason, and he’s built-in volume, I’m taking him in my MVP spot with the 1.5x boost.

I was debating between Johnson and Case Keenum in the MVP spot, but ultimately sided with the Arizona RB. Keenum has struggled with interceptions and fumbles lately; however, he has posted 20+ fantasy points in back-to-back games. He’s not a great option, but I’m rolling with him in this single game slate that doesn’t have much opportunity cost.

Christian Kirk has emerged as the top option within the Arizona passing game. Getting him at a discount from options like Thomas or Sanders is very intriguing through all formats. Game flow could dictate that Kirk keeps nearing double digits in targets as Josh Rosen’s favorite receiver.

Additional notes. Emmanuel Sanders ($14500), Royce Freeman ($10500), and Courtland Sutton ($9000) are all within play through all formats. An alternate configuration to the lineup above features Royce Freeman and Larry Fitzgerald over Dawson and Kirk. The Denver RB situation is a mess with three players getting carries, but Freeman has been trending upward and he usually sees the goal-line carries. Keep in mind that Arizona has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing running backs … Arizona WR Chad Williams ($7000) is a pure punt to help you stack the rest of your lineup. His snap rate has been good, but that hasn’t translated to fantasy production with Josh Rosen under center. You are essentially rolling the dice with him in tournaments, hoping he can get open for a big-gainer.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL – Cincinnati @ Kansas City
