DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.
The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.
Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.
Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.
Familiarize yourself with the rues and enjoy! It’s a great game! Wednesday’s four-game slate features some four-person drafts and plenty of three-person drafts. There are also head-to-heads to participate in.

Chicago is the midst of a terrible stretch and they will for the second time in two nights against Pittsburgh. That will put Penguins in high demand on Wednesday night. Evgeni Malkin isn’t listed here, mostly due to his recent cold spell, but he could do some damage as well. The top line of the Flames has been red hot and they should be high on your wish list for their matchup with Philadelphia.
The options on defense for Wednesday night aren’t very plentiful. Letang and Giordano, who will return from a suspension, are probably the best bets for offense. Heiskanen has been hot lately with one goal and four assists in the last five games. while Theodore has three helpers in the past four matches.
Matt Murray is close to a return from injury, but DeSmith has been impressive in the crease and will face a reeling Chicago squad. Smith has a tougher matchup with the visiting Flyers, but he has been solid of late while recording victories in each of his last six outings. Bishop has two wins in three starts since his return from injury and he already has a win over the Ducks this season. Fleury has been a workhorse for Vegas and he has rattled off nine wins in his last 11 appearances.
Don’t forget to check out the probable starting goaltenders from Rotoworld here.
Now, let’s also look at some players to consider for FanDuel and DraftKings.
Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL).
Ondrej Kase (ANA) - W - $4,400 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings)
Miro Heiskanen (DAL) - D - $4,400 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings)
Alex Tuch (VGK) - W - $5,500 (FanDuel), $5,200 (DraftKings)
James van Riemsdyk (PHI) - W - $5,000 (FanDuel), $3,800 (DraftKings)
Derick Brassard (PIT) - C - $4,200 (FanDuel), $3,600 (DrafKings)
Kase has heated up with five goals and six assists in the last 11 games. Tuch has been productive since his season debut on Oct. 24 with 10 goals and 22 points in 24 games. The Flyers had van Riemsdyk alongside Claude Giroux during Tuesday’s practice, which could make him worthy of attention for Wednesday night. Brassard has been seeing time on the wing with Crosby, which makes him an intriguing pick even though he will take up a center spot.
