DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.
The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.
Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

Forward Rankings
4. Patrik Laine
10. Sean Monahan
11. Patrick Kane
12. Evgeny Kuznetsov
13. Max Domi
14. Sebastian Aho
16. Logan Couture
17. Elias Lindholm
18. Kyle Connor
There are plenty of good forwards and we added some extra for the few six-team pools on Sunday. If you are in a smaller pool and manage to get MacKinnon and Rantanen, you may as well put all your eggs in one basket and add Landeskog in the final round. In larger pools, I would take a pass on forwards in the first round as there are so many good ones and everyone is capable. The Flames trio of Gaudreau, Monahan and Lindholm are strong. The Jets have a bunch of good forwards to take as well.
Defenseman Rankings
1. Brent Burns
2. John Carlson
3. Shea Weber
6. Neal Pionk
Weber had a couple of goals on Saturday to give him three points in his only two games this week. Burns has assists in five of his last six games. Carlson and Giordano have been strong all season. Karlsson broke loose a couple of weeks ago but has gone four games with nary a point. Pionk has taken over from Kevin Shattenkirk as the Rangers top offensive gun from the blueline.
Goaltending Rankings
6. Antti Niemi
Any of the top three goaltenders are likely to win but if you are playing only evening games, then Rittich looks good as Holtby plays in the afternoon.
Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL).
David Rittich (Calgary) - G - $7,500 FanDuel, $8,100 DraftKings
Shea Weber (Montreal) - D - $5,500 FanDuel, $5,060 DraftKings
Hampus Lindholm (Anaheim) - D - $4,600 FanDuel
Matthew Tkachuk (Calgary) - W - $6,500 FanDuel, $6,600 Draft Kings
Kyle Connor (Winnipeg) - W - $5,600 FanDuel
Dylan Strome (Chicago) - C - $4,400 FanDuel, $3,600 DraftKings
Samuel Girard (Colorado) – D - $4,300 FanDuel, $4,600 DraftKings
Andreas Athansiou (Detroit) – W - $5,000 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings
If you are looking for some bargains in addition to some big-name players (MacKinnon, Rantanen, Ovechkin) take a shot with Strome. He is playing alongside Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat and there are not too many better spots to be in. Connor has been a stud this season as had Tkachuk. As mentioned earlier, Weber had two goals Saturday. Rittich has been quite good for the Flames and Calgary has been one of the better teams in the NHL of late.
